i was in a wreck over christmas break and had to fix my 1996 4runner, put 2 grand back into it and lately i hvae heard some noises comming form the engine bay GREAT!!!
i can really hear it when the engine is warmed up and sitting at a stop at 600 rpm its a ticking sound, but when i slowley acc. it gets faster and higher pitched, kinda hard to hear over my CAI,
so my question is do i hvae too much carbon buildup in my 202,***mile engine, or is it a belt or timeing chain?
i am also wondering if i stop using the usual 87 octane and put in some 89 or even 91, will it hurt my engine?
what about fuel addatives? BBK? just let me know what might be wrong?????
thanks guys!
