I got something today..

Yeah it's drum to drum. I don't have the bumper painted yet. It's finals weeks so it's been kinda crazy the past couple weeks. Make sure to post up some pics when you get it done.
 
pick up the front man, the arb is a selectable locker you can have it in there and never even use it if you don't need to and like said above regearing to match the front is going to cost $$$ anyways, i was going to say for close to that same price you could have gone with a arb in the rear which is slightly better than the stock locker, but not better enough to rip out your factory locker and put an arb in there, the only advantage to the "deal" you got is the gearing, kinda killed 2 birds and one stone and all of that, as the arb locker would have cost you that alone and then if you were to regear your looking at 1200 or so, so grab the front buddy and you'll have dual lockers and completely regeared for the price of just doing the rear.

Ok, so what direction are you going in? Welding and grinding the 4Runner housing to accept the Taco 3rd, or welding and grinding the Taco housing to fit 4Runner suspension? Haven't seen anyone do the later yet.

what do you think? serious question not being a jerk,

i think it would be better to just swap the brakes and housing over to the 4runner axle then the later.... unless if there's something i'm missing , hence the question lol:rockthrow:
 
Modifying the 4Runner housing to swap 3rds is the easiest option by far (don't forget that one is coil sprung, the other has leafs, big difference). I guess I asked the question because I was a little surprised haddix got the entire rear end from drum to drum. I would expect that to cost more than simply getting the locked 3rd.
 
I'm going to only use the third. I just didn't really worry about the guy taking it apart. I'll just do that myself. I should just swap to leafs I. The rear and get a solid axle for the front :-)

Well last night I piked up a front diff with 4.88 gears, an arb locker and a high output arb compressor. As of now the install day is the 29th or 30th of January. Cant wait.
