I have figured every which way I could and this thing just won't fit. Anyone else out there ever had a bright idea for a upgrade that just would not get off the ground.

Fit where? Anything is possible in engine swaps if you have the time, money, resources. What is your questions exactly?

Oh no real question just starting a thread with project that never got up and going.. Mine was putting a 5.7 into a 3rd gen but later determined the fire wall would need lots of mods to be able to fit the transmission and Engine plus drive shaft modding. I've sense sold the motor and trans but o well.

Would have been exciting. I've done quite a few engine swaps, they are always more work than you think, and cost WAY more than you want.

Yea I had everything u needed to get the job done but once I got into it and doing measurements the engine and trans would not fit with out cutting a large section of the fire wall and Trans tunnel. and then there was the radiator ha ha ... I did have one idea from the project that would of made it work but I was running out of funds but if u was to do a body lift and gain clearance for the trans u would of possible been home free.

Also with the increase of ponys under the hood then I was thinking of axle swaps and this just got way out of hand at that point...

That's like my dreamI want a 5.7, though an LS is probably more realistic but it'd be nice to stay Toyota and go big! And then supercharge it :target:
I prefer 6 cylinders.
2JZ or nothing for me!

Yea I understand what you mean the V6 is a good platform. I kinda acquired the engine and parts and just thought it would be cool to say hey I have a 5.7 in my T4R but ya know wasn't considering cost.
