:boxer: LOL, I love it actually but if you had ever said, "Hey PitbullRescuer, you'll have 3 3rd Gen 4Runners," I would've laughed. However, due to my addiction to this forum, I indeed have 3 of them now. And, I'm looking at buying a T100.

For the money though, I really don't think there is a better vehicle on the road. We have 2 dogs and a kid. We definitely need something of this size. These things are very well built, feel safe and IMO are incredibly reliable.

In my defense, I really do think the 3rd Gens are going to be a modern classic and it's nice to see so many people take such good care of them. No offense to any of the 2nd or 1st Gen owners but it's rare (at least around here) to see a clean one. (I do want to add a 1st gen to the stable at some point but my wife will probably kill me if I buy anything else anytime soon.) I hope to continue to see more and more 3rd Gens get "freshened up" and on the road for many, many more miles.

Pointless thread I guess but what the hell, right?

Where do you keep them? Garage or storage building? Outside? Just curious if you try to shield them from the elements to help slow the aging process. Mine has slept in a garage for most of its life, which I'm sure has helped it stay looking good. Summer heat in the South is brutal.

Driveway. I don't have a garage at my house and I hate not having one. I bought the house a few years ago and gutted it. It came out nice but business was really slow for those years too so my plans to build a garage have been put off a few times. I really need one though.

There's pics of two of them in the builds in my sig. I'm picking up the 3rd one tomorrow, have to drive down to VA to get it. My wife is unaware of the 3rd one, she'll be surprised when I get home tomorrow. ;)

You mean we have to click our mouse to see them? Jeez, just make us do all the work...

Do you mean to say that she's going to immediately noose your balls with her >insert "p" word here< whip?.... I know if I had 2 4Runners and surprised my GF with a 3rd, my life would be over.

Congrats on the purchase and I'm oh so envious of you... hahah

I think your on to something

Yeah, she has no idea. She didn't know about the 2nd one either though until the PO was delivering it to my house. I just bought her a '12 Maxima so my 3 combined aren't anywhere near what that costs. That's my argument anyway. :hiding:

they say it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission!!

I wanted a T100 for a long time but couldn't find one around here worth it. They were rusted more than the 80's trucks/4Runners.

I never thought anyone would give BFAD and his family a run on the number of 3rd's owned; congrats PBR.

The 3rd gen 4 runner is a great vehicle to own; aside from its known quirky problems, it is a blast to own.

I assume this new one is the 5speed, if so you will never look back! They are genuinely fun to drive, they drive like a sports car (sorta)... its even possible to drift one, not that id ever do a thing like that lol
Glad to hear the towing was successful, post some pics!

It is the 5 speed. Trans is real notchy but I'm betting it needs a gear oil change.

For having a cracked head, the thing runs it's *ss off. I slapped a tag on it and drove it around my neighborhood, it pulls hard. Clutch chatters like a son of a b*tch. I pm'd rva to ask him about the diagnosis of a cracked head. The radiator and the over flow bottle look like hell but when I pulled the dip stick, the oil is clean. I'm stumped.

Could oil be getting into the water pump? I have no idea if that is even possible, just a thought.

I have driven two 4runners with the first gen super charger and in my opinion the 5speed is much faster. Or it at least feels that way (and that's all that really matters)
