I have this idea and I need some advise

I was thinking to get some used 3rd gen rims 16" and to throw maybe a 2857516 on them or should I just get 2558017 on my current stock rims?

I have Daystar BB boost and 1,25" spacers on the front, so I expect to do some trimming on the liners. My truck is 100% highway vehicle, for now.

Also I have 5th gen calipers on the front so I'm not sure if 16" inch rim will clear it anyway.

For starters, wheel spacers are never a good idea. Buy the correct wheels and don't run them.

16" wheels will more than likely not fit at all, not even with 1.25" spacer. The caliper is the issue, it will hit the inside of the rim. If you want to have 2 sets of wheels and tires, just buy another set of 17s

With your 1" BB up front, you can run a 285/70/17 with very little trimming of plastic. Not sure they'll clear the upper control arms on stock wheels though. Pictured is mine with 285/70/17 BFG KO2 tires on 17x8 wheels with 4.5" back spacing and zero lift.

Thank you and sorry, not sure why I thought you had a 5th gen also. Since you have a 4th gen, 16s fit fine I believe but double check, i'm not 100% sure. I no longer have the same setup as in that picture, this is it now.

16" wheels will only fit on SR5's with the smaller brakes.

Stick with 17s. Generally, for offroad use, you want the wheel to be 1/2 or less of the total diameter. 33" tire on a 17" wheel is fine.

I prefer skinny tires to wide for mileage, cost and traction. This is on my '07 with Icons
