After driving my 2014 limited for 11 months and 29,xxx miles, I'll tell you why I've got a smile on my face. The reason? Cause I don't have to drive it anymore!!!!
Don't get me wrong, it's very reliable, 4wd and looks sexy! Other then that here's what's wrong with it. Ready for the list?! Get the popcorn out!
Slow, and I mean so slow my right calf muscle gets tight from getting a work out from the accelerator. Want to pass a vehicle either on the hwy or local? You better stretch out that calf muscle first!
A ticking noise the dealership could never fix so if you like playing the drums? No worries! Just accelerate and you've got a nice ticking noise you can make a nice beat too!
The 20 gallon fuel tank? You like candy and snacks? No worries! Cause you'll be filling up every 2-3 days by getting 350 miles a tank cause don't be stupid, a Suv doesn't need a 25-30 gallon fuel tank.
Does yours come with navigation? I think mine does. Not sure. Wait, that's right, I had to go buy a garmin! Nothing better then having 2 navi's in the vehicle!! Good job Toyota for a worthless navigation unit.
You like having your left shoulder lower than your right while driving? The make sure to use both arm rests at the same time! It's so comfortable! Oh the things
My daughter loves roller coasters so every time I'm in the mood to give her a good ride all you have to do is hit the brakes semi hard! Yep! It'll feel like you're about to head down a roller coaster! Make sure you tell your kid to keep his arms up for the full effect. Don't mind the brakes locking up after cause it will happen 2/4 times.
Toyota though of on this 4 runner is great! Also don't forget the 12 inch gear shifter that gets in the way of your main cup holder.
Other then that, don't forget it's reliable and has 4wd.

Cheers happy Friday. Hope some of you got a good laugh.

Two words: Test Drive.

Even if all of those things would be up to par with your standards, the next guy would come here an complain about things he didn't like about the car.

It's interesting how many people complain about the simplest things, If the car were to be manufactured around you, it would definitely cost you a pretty penny. Vehicle type, price or design doesn't matter to a person looking to complain, they will always complain about something.

I don't like a few things about all the cars I have purchased, but I had an option to purchase them or not in the first place. Better luck with your next car. :thumb:

I took a 7 hour trip yesterday and my calf muscle feels fine - must have gotten lucky! Even passed a few cars too!

@OP

I'd r e a l l y love to hear what you drove before your horrible 4R, and even moreso; what the replacement is.

C'mon. You can tell us. I promise we'll not say a word about your choices.

Put me down as BMW for the replacement.

What is Patrick Bateman doing slumming it in a Toyota in the first place?

Tell your limo driver to turn up the Phil Collins so you can rock out...or was that just the novel?

@OP

Thanks for the good laugh..It always humors me when someone comes on here and posts all their dislikes about a vehicle they know everyone else loves (attention?)...I mean this is a T4R forum...

The best part is that you believe this car is such a piece* and not good enough for you but its just fine for your wife...she must be thrilled to have you :shocked:

LMAO!! I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Thanks for all the good laughs this morning. :thumb:

Pssst .... Mary! Lose the 4" pumps, and maybe your calves will loosen up just a titch.

BTW, DAGNABIT bet me a Benjamin that you won't tell us your new ride.

Before - Lexus IS-F. Too small and work was getting to where I needed to have bigger space for things.
After - 2015 Ford F-150 sport supercrew ecoboost. This thing is very comfortable!

I'm waiting for her to tell me to trade it in. It's coming soon I bet. Lol

ok, so its not just me who is confused...

its a truck...a truck...um, i mean a TRUCK, ya know.

they make crossovers for this specific reason. its your right to dislike these things about it, it is a niche vehicle. But again, i am confused. the same why i am confused about people who pay a few thousand dollars for a vacation and go to Sandals and then complain that it's not the Ritz Carlton...as if they didnt read one brochure about Sandals. I researched SUVs for about a yr before ending up in what i bought. i knew exactly what i was getting into, and ended up with a lot more than what i expected. So why wouldnt a person, oh, i dont know, do just a little bit (i mean a ton) of research about a thing before they dropped tens of thousands of dollars on that thing -- the top level of that thing at that.

Well, i like Sandals because they give me what i want out of a vacation...and i love, we ALL love, our 4rnnrs...so

as has been said...some of this would have been vetted out in a simple test drive.
so whatever you end up in, enjoy
:sorry:
