I introduce to you the new ride!

[SAC-CA-Runner]

Dubbed the "Roxy-mobile". Picked her up 2 weeks to go at El Cajon Toyota. They were pretty good to deal with and I believe I got a great deal. I searched high and low for a Salsa Red Sport with a V6 and they were the ONLY dealer from Colorado west that had one with the options I wanted (sunroof, homelink, compass mirror). There was a V8 at my local dealership but they wouldn't budge on price even tho no one was buying V8's at this time. So, I went down to SD and picked up my V6 Sport.

So far...I LOVE it! I'm SOOOO happy to be back into a Toyota. I LOVED my 2000 Tundra V8 4x4 but the gas killed me and I wasn't out on a jobsite so I sold it last year. Drove a Jetta (ugh) around and I got rid of that for this.

And of course...I'll mod it! I can NEVER leave well enough alone on ANY of my cars. Surprisingly my 08 GTI hasn't been modded yet as the woman drives that most of the time. But future mods within the next month or two, in order, include:
1. Tint on the driver windows(this coming friday)
2. All Weather Mats(hopefully by middle of Nov...b-day present and if that Weathertech group buy ever happens)
3. Sirius Radio(god I miss having that, but am trying to decide just to wait till I upgrade the radio to a Kenwood 8120, but that might be a while)
4. Sport Grill (I will be selling the smoked chrome stocker)
5. Painting headlights black (bowtie3 mod)
6. Removing side emblems(already done on one side as you will see in the pics) and painting rear and front black or smoke chrome
6. Clear Bra and Excel covers for front of the car (I didn't get this for my GTI and I deeply regret it. I drive A LOT so I need it)
7. OBX Sport Pedals


Then after next winter I will:
1. Skid Plate
2. Powdercoat skid plate and rack bars and step bars to be all black (the grey kind of bothers me, but I wanted the round bars)
3. TRD Intake
4. Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer kit (when stock tires go to crap and have to upgrade
5. Paint stock wheels a graphite/anthracite color to give them a more "dark" look (don't like black wheels)
6. Nitto Terra Grapplers
7. Upgrade radio and speakers (maybe with that sub that guy got from Modesto and Audison amp...VERY clean)

So there you have it....now...pics! LOVIN the red. Just needs a REALLY good clay bar(Adams) and minor Menzerna polish and Lusso Oro wax. This will happen before winter as there is A LOT of crap on the paint.

As you can see...passenger side already emblems removed. I removed the drivers after the pics

And of course...the "Roxy" of the Roxy-mobile! She is happy to have her room now instead of a folded down rear seat of a Jetta!

There are certain personal preference issues between the SE and the SR5. I would kill for you're interior color though. Mine is just boring, no contrast. I am assuming that's part of the SE. The other thing I want is your telescoping wheel, want to trade?:lamo:

Overall I love my SR5, you're going to love that thing!

Very cool that the dog enjoys it too. Mine won't let me leave the house without them.

Very nice 4Runner. I too love the salsa red, and tubular running boards that are on the SE's. I would have bought a red one, but I couldnt find one when I bought mine so I went with the Galatic Gray Mica. By the way what kind of dog is Roxy?

That's a great look'n 4R. Salsa red is a great color and I don't seem to see many of them on the road. I test drove a salsa red SE with all the options I wanted but I was already set on getting the galactic gray.

Great list of mods you have planned. Can't wait to see the progress.

Roxy is a golden retriever that we took in from a co-worker's sister that was going thru divorce. It was a spur of the moment decision and couldn't be happier. She is VERY VERY well behaved for a year and a half old pup. She loves to swim so the 4R will help with those Folsom Lake runs. Will be fun to see how she acts in the snow!

Yeah...she loves beer too. Hell, on the way home I stopped in Escondido at the Stones Brewery which makes some damn good beer (Arrogant Bas**** Oaked and Cali IPA Belgique). So I bought some extra to take with me up to my friends in Santa Barbara. Roxy's favorite beers are Fosters and Kona Longboard!

I paid $33K OTD(that includes tax, license, fees, etc, etc) with .9% financing. So not too bad. Probably could have gotten better deals on other colors like black or silver but I HAD to have red.

That color is not the best....you should trade it for a silver one. I happen to have one I'll guess I'll trade you for all your trouble in buying the wrong color.

Live in Plumas Lake(own)/Alameda(rent), work in Roseville(1 day), Alameda/Oakland (4days a week). I fill up in Natomas tho on the way to the Bay! So you might see me there.

Nice ride! That red is poppin. I bought my 4R used and it never came with that 4Runner mat/carpet in the back cargo area...that would surely come in handy. I just have a sheet down. FYI...try to have something down because it is hard to clean sand out of that material.
