competition in this segment is what's needed. I really don't want Toyota to stick with old tech while overcharging simply because they can. I also don't want a 3.5L V6 in the next 4runner as well. Bring back the V8s! :cheers:

Funny you say that...top contenders for my next car are Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Sequoia along with Ford Expedition FX4. Both Toyotas lag behind Ford by at least 5 MPGs in either city or highway! I get it...big low end torque and maybe long term reliability with the V8...but damn, i drive over 33,000 miles a year...getting 13-15mpg vs. 20 mpg plays a HUGE factor in the decision making.

Funny you say that...my brother’s 2018 Raptor (seen here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/off-topic/253472-bro-got-raptor.html) headunit (NAVI, radio, BT, etc.) all went to hell due to defective “module”...which is now on 4-6 weeks backorder because basically this is just a poorly design/made module that affects most Fords!

what gets 20? with that many miles im going to assume a lot of them are on the freeway. my freeway mileage is basically 20 with my v8. ive never seen 13, that's crazy low.
The last was a 2009 MKX. Very reliable engine, only 60k. The others were crown Victoria from 90s. One went at 36k, right at warranty. One started to golater. Traded all in but none were driven by dealer so they had no clue. That's why I have two 4runners now. Hoping for better reliability all the way around.

Expedition gets 17/23 or something like that. TLC 13/18. Sequoia 13/17.

My 2008 Sienna blew connecting rod at 90k...babied it and service regularly. $4500 later, engine started to leak oil...probably due to wonderful Toyota servicemen’s (lack of) skills...traded it in. Due to family requirements, i went with another Sienna (2017)...hoping for better luck this time around.

I hear you. What I meant was that I have no favorites between Ford and Dodge. Not familiar with specific problems they have. I do favor Toyota, though. I’ve personally put over a million miles on Toyotas since 1982 and they’ve proven themselves to me.
In 4-years I put 14k on the ram. In 6-years we put 60k on MKX. High mileage is not our middle name. The 15 Limited as 21k in 3-years. Maybe we don't drive enough. I surely know the oil gets changed enough.

Do you know what Module he is talking about? (ACM,APIM,FDIM,FCIM)?? I don't see any specific modules on national back-orders?
Last 8 of the VIN and which module, I can tell you what's up with it..
I'm an Admin on SVTPerformance.com, and I have not come across anything about that...But I am mostly taking care care of the mustang stuff on there, and miss some of the Raptor issues.

Correct, haven't seen any issues with F150's??
There are about 30 different choices of "APIMs" it could be for 18' F150. Would need vin to verify which one.
Back to original topic, haven't seen anything in the pipe line from Ford corporate about the upcoming Bronco?!

Nothing Ford has done has impressed me in a VERY long time other than the Raptor, but I know too many dudes that have them and have so many issues, it's just not worth the headache.
The new mustangs look pretty and have some big POWER, but too much wrenching and too many issues to deal with.
Ford could make a good vehicle if they wanted to, not sure why they don't/won't.
They could make a killer Bronco, but in the end it will likely be another weak arsed crossover, mini van in SUV clothing.
Which is fine, because most people who will buy it will drive it to the stadium on Sundays and the grocery store on the weekdays.

I saw an orange Renegade the other day and it had a roof rack with a high lift jack and two of those $350 plastic things you put under a tire if you get stuck on it. I almost traded in my 4Runner for one but decided against it. Didn't like the color. 
My last vehicle was a 2007 Ford Escape. Not a bad vehicle until 173k when the engine blew. First vehicle I ever had that didn't make it to at least 200k and that even includes an AMC.
