I just can't make decisions.....

So my lease on my 03 sport is up in about a month. I just cant seem to decide between just getting the new 06 sport or upgradeing to a limited.

My delema.........

I work for a dealer so i can get a decent deal throught them.

I pull a car trailer at LEAST a few times a month, and the sport with the X-ERAS was doing a great job, so I wanted to get it with the new truck also.

The wife loves the limited with the leather and heated seats.

However, we just cant seem to locate a black limited with just the x-eras, which brings my problem. do i get the limited without the x-eras or just lease a sport again. Also, the limited is like another $100 a month the lease over the sport, which is another thing i am trying to justify.

Is the limited without the x-eras going to drive/handle/tow that much different?

It's difficult to suggest me something for you. Here in Canada all Sport and Limited are with XREAS. I, personally, have Limited and I like it. I think it worth extra $$ for the Limited. Again, here in Canada we can't choose the equipment, the only choice we have are 3 different trims: SR5, Sport Edition or Limited. My 2c.

I had the same problem when I was looking for a new limited. The answer is Toyota stopped making new limited with X-REAS because there was little demand for such an expensive option. So now you have to special order any limited, at least in the 4 state NW, with X-REAS. Sucks, I know. I confirmed this with several dealers.

The even bigger problem is that dealers hate special orders since it takes an allocation away from them for several months. Many months they could be selling that slot.

Yes and no. X-REAS add the ability to tow more weight, but that's about it. The tow package standard on the limited without X-REAS should do just fine.

As far as I know XREAS adds cornering stability and lowers the risk of rolling over by distributing the pressure between shocks. I test drive both versions with and without XREAS. The vehicle with XREAS is way better controls in high speed turns.

In terms of towing.. which is what the poster was asking. It also as the cornering ability, etc..

Yeah, but XREAS does NOT allow you to tow more weight.

Well, you can custom order the truck you want and wait for it, but it will take a while. Another option is to get the Sport with a V8 so you have towing ability AND the XREAS. All you would have to do to appease the wife is add aftermarket leather with heated seats, which should set you back around $1500... still much less than the added cost for a Limited.

Even when not towing, I am sort of an agressive driver, so if its really does help, its something i will be happier with. I'm leaning twords the sport again, even though she likes the leather, seat heaters etc..., I am the primary driver of the truck, and even though that stuff is nice,, I just dont need it. I think after having this truck with the x-eras, I would probably notice not having it. They are saying the only trucks they are finding in this area with the x-eras also have air suspension and navigation, which will be like $200 more a month to lease. I just cant justify it..........

either get the Sport with leather or just get the Sport and add custom leather seats, chances are they'll be better quality anyway.

Personally, I had an 06' Sport V8 that I purchased last fall. I liked it, BUT, last week I traded for a 06' Limited V8. I can tell you that initially, I don't feel any difference between the two even though my limited doesn't have Xreas. But then again, I havent really driven my new Limited aggressive yet either. So far I like it WAYYYY better than my Sport. It is more comfortable (heated leather seats:awais: ), and I like the ride better than my Sport. It seems to "float" on the road in driving whereas the Sport was stiffer (hence due to Xreas I suspect). Anyway, I like the color keyed surround on the Limited, the 18" wheels, dual climate control, different gauge cluster, lighted running boards, etc....Of course, you could add leather to a Sport, buy the 18" wheels from ebay, and make other mods to your liking. I just like the fact that my Limited has everything that I want, and nothing I don't. Just depends on your needs and how deep your pockets are:biggrin2: . Like I said, I had a Sport and traded for a Limited and have never been happier!

do you notice the difference in handling without the x-eras? Thats the main reason i havent pulled the trigger on one yet.

Well, my Limited only has 400+ miles on it right now and I am still in the break-in period. So, my driving has been conservative. But, initially I have noticed a more comfortable ride! The handling seems just as good as the Sport I had, but again, I haven't "challenged" the suspension around corners (which is the only advantage of the Sport IMHO). In my normal commute that I also had with the Sport, my Limited handles very well with NO noticable change in handling. I personally feel that its even better because it feels less stiffer (maybe due to Michelin tires and not the Dunflops that come on the Sport models). I do not regret my decision at all and feel that the Limited is well worth the extra $ that I paid. I look forward to driving it alot more than I did my Sport. But, each to his/her own.:biggrin2:

If you're towing a car trailer XREAS is a must. You may even want to test drive a Limited with the rear auto leveling air bag suspension. It really is worth every penny when towing. It also maintains the same plush ride no matter how much weight is added to the rear.
