well of course I'm gonna bring it to a toyota dealer that has a body shop...im not gonna bring it to any dealership....i used to work for a honda that had a body shop...i kno how this all works...but thanks!!

Yeah man. Toyota Certified Body Shops are the way to go.

My insurance co. has a list of shops that guarantee a lifetime 100% satisfaction. If not, you report it to the insurance co. and they make it right.

This is the one i brought my '03 Sport Edition V8 to. They were absolutely 100% AWESOME from start to finish.

I don't think Toyota of Ardmore or Conicelli has a body shop. I think I saw one in Newtown Square that looked like they do good work (on Rt 252 (newtown street road and Baltimore Pike (Rt 3). Cavallo Auto body, I think its called. They are relatively close to where you are. Good Luck

well i might try carousal toyota in glen mills..if not..im in delaware a lot so i might also go to price toyota in new castle....but yea cavallo is top notch work...im ok if it does become my fault...i hope not because i dont have the 500 for the deductible plus 89 for the fuc.ing ticket...living pay to pay blows...

DEL? I thought you were in Havertown? Anyway, yeah, screw it, take it to a awesome shop. No matter where you go, you are responsible for the deductible only. They always have bimmers/benzes/Jags on their lot.

So....i had missed the green arrow so i naturally pulled up a little bit to the middle of the intersection so i could yield on green and wait for traffic to clear or the light to start to turn red so i could turn...the traffic on the oncoming side in the lane closest to the curb had stopped but the was still green and it was clear so i decided to go and i went the light had turned yellow then out of no where this dude comes out of no where and t-bones me......He told the cop that he speeded up to beat the light i get the f'n ticket!! Im pretty sure what i did EVERY SINGLE DRIVER DOES!!

So......who do you guys think is at fault??

Sorry to see what happened to your truck. What kind of car did the other driver have? Did the other driver write that he sped up in his statement? If so, you may be able to challenge your insurance company that it is not 100% your fault and your premiums will not be as drastically raised. From what you described, the other driver also should have received a ticket. Yellow lights are meant to slow you down, not speed up. To me, that is careless driving.

I'm a little confused by your account of the events so maybe you could clarify a little bit for me. Were you trying to make a right turn on red? If so, how did you end up getting hit on the passenger side of your rig?

he was driving an 03 blazer 2 door...he admitted to the cop he sped up to blow the light....and i was making a left turn...it also could be that by the time he reached the light it was red....i could understand if he had a green and yes i turned in front of him but this light was possibly red when he went through it

Similar thing happened to me. Busy intersection, lots of cars, etcetc. Except I had a green arrow, so I went. This guy from the light across from me ran through his (obvious red) to get in front of me and slam on his brakes. Possibly to get a quick buck off insurance. His tailgate already had a huge dent in it from a previous incident (obviously he's been doing that to other people). Strange, because he was driving a green 3rd Gen. I remember every little detail about this incident. Good thing I had pretty decent brakes and didn't end up rear-ending him. Because this happened during the first year I started driving, so that could have screwed my insurance for a good long time.

As for your situation. Without me being there I can't really point fingers at who's fault it is, so I won't go there. Good luck though.

So that would mean the light was possibly red when you turned...

I can sympathize. The exact same thing happened to me freshman year. I had a yield green to left turn and the guy not only sped up but drifted over 5 lanes. I saw him drifting towards me like he was honing in on me. He went all the way from the inside lane to the outside right turn lane. I heard his truck downshift like he was gunning it so I floored it. He clipped my rear quarter panel doing about 55. He admitted to the cops that he dropped something and that's what caused the accidental speed up and drifting over the lanes. It was still my fault though.

My brother had a situation where he had already completed his left turn and the driver of ex police car Crown Victoria drifted over the yellow line and slammed into the front of his car. It was during rush hour so there was a lot of traffic so my brothers vehicle was completely cleared the other drivers lane of travel but not 100% straight yet. The other driver said that he drifted left because my brother pulled in front of him. Of course, the other driver immediately moved his vehicle 1/4 mile from the scene. My brother left his vehicle where the accident occurred. The other driver knew the police officer who responded... predict how the report was written. We requested the police video and obtained it but all of the microphones were malfunctioning that day. The police car with the best vantage point also had a malfunctioning camera. Weird. My town seems very corrupt to say the least.

Unfortunately, you cannot control this stuff and luckily you were not hurt. Your truck will be fixed. Does your state require each party to write a statement in the police report? Is there any evidence that the other driver said this? In my opinion, the other guy should have been ticketed as well.

But isn't it also law that you are not suppose to block the intersection? They paint lines on the road for a reason.

What if an emergency vehicle was coming from the other side of traffic? Would you want someone blocking the intersection if you or a loved one was in an ambulance and seconds count?

By the way, in some states...if you are caught in the middle of an intersection and the light turn red on you...you've technically 'ran a red light'.

Be careful and patient out there guys...

Yes. It is commonly refereed to as "blocking the box" and it is illegal, for exactly these reasons.

He turned into oncoming traffic, at either a yellow or a red; both are illegal. I kinda kept reading this over the weekend.

I get that it sucks he sped up to beat the light, that, by the way is not illegal in most areas. Running a red is, not trying to beat a yellow.

You can argue this or that, but in the end; you turned into his lane. I live in D.C., which I believe finally beat New York and LA for worst traffic in the country and I see people do this ALL the time. I have also seen plenty of accidents cause by this.

I get what happens. You are impatient, so you move up.. and up, and up into the intersection, waiting for the last person to move through.

If they don't, you wait till the yellow and red and gun it.

People do it all the time. That is correct, but like not washing your hands after going to the bathroom; that doesn't make it ok.
