I live in Pcola near downtown. I have a 2004 4runner but it currently has a stock rack on it.

Now those are some nice looking racks! I'd be VERY interested should a 4th gen version come around.

I'm nowhere close to Florida so I can't help out with a donor vehicle for fitting BUT I am willing to take some time to sketch out precise measurements as to the stock roof rack mounting points, etc and anything else you might need.

Just let me know as I'd love to help out if I can.

no i havent, i just dont see that many modified 4runners in my area at all. i'm thinking the folks around here just arent interested in modifying their rides or taking time to help someone do the same, using theirs lol. some day...

I live in Fort Walton. I have no problem with you taking measurements from my vehicle. I come to Pensacola from time to time and may be able to work something out to leave it if I can figure out how to get my boat in the water without it. I'm tied up her in FWB forthe next couple of weekends at least. You are welcome to come over here and measure whatever you want in the mean time.
I have a sunroof though and it has an air foil above it that is intelligent. There is also a spoiler on the rear. I think this is all factory stuff but it will probably make it difficult to design a rack. I might be interested if you come up with something fantastic.

Argh!! I swear getting a meetup to happen is like lassoing a unicorn!! I don't get it. Sorry for not keeping up with this thread, again I'm always in the 3rd gen section. I need to start building the jig and I guess i'm going to have to work this a little differently so could someone help me out with some measurements?

I need the distance between the front and rear mounts for the factory rack. How about the the distance between both the inner and outer edges of the black strip running the length of the truck at the mount locations? Hopefully that makes sense and hopefully somebody has a tape measure handy!

I don't have measurements for the stock rack but can get you some measurments based on my Gobi if you'd like? I assume it mounts the same as you'll plan on mounting it.
