i need measurements off the truck, not the rack. just the distances between the inner and outer edges of the black strip running fore and aft on the roof, particularly the area where the mounting points are located.
I need a 4th gen owner in NW Florida for rack fit-up

Here's what I got based on the mounts on the Gobi.
58-3/8" between the back bolt on the front foot to the front bolt on the rear mount (using the center of the bolt/hole as endpoints). ~2.5" between bolts front and rear, so that would make it 63-3/8" from front bolt to rear bolt.
My measurements for the channel were inconsistent, the curve of the roof as well as the fins in the middle made it hard to measure.
I got 44-3/8" at the back of front feet, 43-3/4" at the front middle feet, and 42-3/4" at the back of the rear feet. The center of the bolt is about 1/2-5/8" inward of the channel edge. So that'd make it 45-3/8",44-3/4", & 43-3/4" measured bolt hole to bolt hole.
There is a strong curvature to the roof from front to rear and side to side though, so I suppose that will change the numbers a bit for your purposes.
edit - in case you're unfamiliar with the Gobi, the middle foot does not bolt in, only rests on the channel so I didn't measure the lengths for it. I'd assume you could just center it between the other two feet and it'd be the same. Not sure if the perkins of bajaracks have middle feet.

awesome gaterose, thanks! im sure the middle feet are the same kind of deal as the front feet on third gens as the rails on them dont go all the way up leaving no way to "bolt" it down, without drilling holes anyways. no sweat there, with the curve i build into my racks they are as rigid as car ramps so i may not even need a middle foot. i'll draw your measurements out and get to cutting some steel!

Do you want a measurement from the front of the front foot to the front of my rack and the same for the rear?
The front foot is about 1/4 way from the rear of the sun roof, and the rear has an overhang of around a half a foot. So you probably wouldn't want to build your tube structure based solely off of the foot measurements.
edit- unless you were just building a center section until you can get a local vehicle... which I assume will be just as hard or harder than getting measurements from one.

this will get me started for now, i just needed some good numbers to build the outer boundaries of my jig. i'll still need to meet someone to set up the mounts as thats really hard to do without many test fits (i'm super picky). hopefully i can at least get a rack built with no mounts and wont need to ask for as much time with someones vehicle, might make it easier to get someone to meet-up...

maybe you could lure one of the Florida guys in with a discount on the first 4th gen rack you build?
Just a thought, some dealerships in my city have a 24 hour test drive program. Check if the local Toyota dealer has that program.
hopefully someone steps up.
not sure how your design goes but accommodations for a light bar on the front of the rack would be a nice addition. I know some of the other racks need a bit of modification to get them in there.
looking forward to seeing your finished product!

Ive offered deep discounts on a rack or cash money just for parking the truck here for a weekend. All of my racks have light mounting capabilities and im happy to customize a build if someone has a 40" bar in mind or something like that.
