I Need advice for the PNW

Hey, so I need a little advice on what to do in the PNW for 1 day. My sister is borrowing my 3rd gen for a trip to Seattle (see needs a reliable vehicle) and then is going to leave it at a friend's house until I can pick it up. I am flying in to Seattle to pick it up on 06/14 and I have to be at work again in St. Paul, MN on 6/18, so that leaves me 4 days to get it done. 1 to fly and pick it up, and 2 to drive home, that leaves 1 day to do something in the PNW.

So I ask, if you had 1 day with a totally stock 4wd 3rd gen, what would you do in the PNW?

I am up for mild wheeling and seeing the sights, or just checking out Seattle.

Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks in advance, and just since this is the 3rd gen area I have got to leave a pic.

Long drive home!

You may want to check your driving distance from Seattle to St. Paul. I live in Spokane, in eastern WA, and usually take two 12 hour days to drive from here to Red Wing, just 65 miles south of the Twin Cities.

If you want to see WA instead of driving around beautiful Seattle (and it is beautiful!), may I suggest going north on I-5, take a right on state highway 522 and stay on it to Monroe, WA. From there go east on Highway 2. Stop off in Leavenworth, WA, for lunch. Go a little further east to Alternate 97A, turn north through Chelan. Go right on 17 and then east on 174 to Grand Coulee dam. From there I'd go south on 155 until you hit Highway 2 again. Follow 2 all the way to Spokane.

This trip would give you a good idea of what Washington state is like. No gravel, all two or four lane roads, but a nice one day trip. From Spokane, it will take you approximately two 12 hour driving days to get back to St. Paul.

Head up to Skagit County (1 1/2 north of Seattle) it´s a beautiful drive and then you can check out Walker Valley ORV park. Really nice and right outside mount vernon, wa (15 min from the freeway).

June can be rainy in Washington though. You may have a beautiful sunny day that you will think Washington is the most beautiful state in the US or you may have a rainy dreary day (Good day to hit a starbucks for a good coffee.)

I think that is a great idea. I would either do something like that, take a nice leisurely first day of travel, then get to the meat of it. If not, I'd just stick in Seattle. If I was going to be doing a lot of driving, the last thing I'd want to do on my downtime is more driving. There's plenty of stuff to check out in the city.

I just made the route out in Google maps and man does that look like one beautiful drive. I guess I was assuming 14-15 hour days to get home before, but now that drive and then 2 12 hour days sounds awesome. Also, you are absolutely right, long days.
