I need help. Bad acceleration.

I have a 1990 toyota 4runner with a v6 3.0 engine. Its been sitting for 3 or 4 years now and now tht i got it cleaned up and started it wont drive right. I put the peddle to the floor and it wont even come close to the mph it should. Its a stuggle just getting up a hill. Though if i got a good head start i can keep it going for awhile. That is if a red light doesnt stop me. I need help cause i cant figure out what the problem is. I checked the vacuum lines and switch them all out anyways. So they should be good. So what do i check next?

Gas could be bad. Dose it ideal just fine with no power? If so I would take the front o2 out and see if it gets better, if so cat or some thing down stream is clogged up.

I have a 95 4runner with the same engine and they are honestly very slow if you dont already know this.:biggrin2:

probably needs fresh gas, fuel filter and a good tune up, fresh plugs only use ngk, possibly wires and cap and rotor. make sure it has a clean air filter. start simple and go from there. if you have a compression tester, wouldnt hurt to check it while changing plugs.
