I need some help to figure out a noise

I have had a hum coming from my right front for about half the winter. The hum gets louder as I go faster. If there is a dog leg in the road toward the right, taking weight off my right wheel, the noise goes away momentarily until I straighten out.

About a month ago I jacked up the right side and grabbed my tire, I had the play showing a bad wheel bearing. I had my mechanic replace that and my MPGs went from 15 up to 16.

I still have the hum though.

When I bought my truck it had no clamp on the right inboard cv boot. So this week I replaced the CV axle. Then my caliper froze on that side and I replaced that. Now today I rotated the tires.

I still have the hum.

Anyone have any ideas?? Anything is appreciated.

Hows the tire wearing? Is the inside tread showing a lot of cupping? uneven side tread on a more aggressive mud tire can make a fair amount of noise

The tires are a year old and all look good. No cupping.

I will definitely give it another check, but I replaced that a month ago with no change in noise.

Do the bearing on the other side , same exact thing happened to me , got the other one done for free because the mechanic diagnosed it.

Hmm, that could be. I suppose if I wanted to diagnose more before throwing another part at it I could swap bearings in the front, right? From memory both should be the same.

You could , but I wouldn't because the one that's still original has been rotating the same way its whole life. Put it on the other side you may have some issues. And if they were both bad you just wasted time and it mihht get confusing at that point as to what is going on.I would put a new part on the other side. Wheel bearings are normal wear items , new ones are a good thing.

Yeah I should just bite the bullet, and buy another one. I guess that's my next step.

I realize this is an old thread but in case someone searches it someday I'll give it some closure. It was the other bearing making the noise for me. Long story short, where the noise is coming from can be deceiving.
