I need to vent about sway bar bushings...

What size are your end links? 12mm or 3/8" (9.5mm)....Or did you not measure them?

I did not measure my end links at all, there is no correlation to the size of the end link and the diameter of the bar itself as far as my understanding goes. I did replace my end links when I installed my Energy Suspension bushings though.

Energy suspension and done. Next time do your research. I dont think if on your end as an informed and researched consumer youd allow yourself to end up with MR2 parts. Pay attention to what you're ordering. Even if a company has something mislabeled and you purchase it without looking at a part number you dont deserve your money back. Just my oppinion.

Ok well that kit has 12mm ends although the bar bushings are correct. My ‘97 and at least a few others have 9.5mm (3/8) ends and 26mm bar....guess I may have to buy two kits unless I can find the bushings separately

You're not alone, I've been reading and reading and reading...

Seems to be confusion(at least on my part) as to what (one only)kit to order so you get the proper end link size also or if 2 kits is the only way.

Reading comprehension, apparently not a strong suit for you. If you read what i wrote, the company placed the wrong parts in the box. I did order the correct parts... Thanks for your input from my 10 year old post...

I emailed Energy Suspension. They said #energy suspension 8.5141kit has 9mm
end bushings and 26mm bar. I googled the kit and it is for 2WD 4runner. So it looks like some 4wd 4runners ended up with the 2wd sway bar, hence the wrong end bushings if you buy a kit for the 4wd 26mm sway bar!

I cannot imagine the skinnier end links make a lot of difference, it is the twist resistance of the main bar that does the job, but maybe I am wrong or the skinnier end links can break while wheeling?

Any way if ES is correct there is one kit that will do the job for those with sway bars like mine and a few others.

That's a 2WD end link on my 4WD converted 4Runner. Of course, that was with a thicker Addco bar up front. I have stronger (and disconnectable) links up there now.

That kit has the 12mm end bushings, won't fit.

Also heard back from Prothane, they sell bushings a la carte, here are the ones for the 2WD sway bartbhat made its way to some 4wd's...

"universal sway bar end link bushings that are 9.37mm ID. Here is the link to them: 19921. Look in the details box for the dimensions."

You still have to buy a it for the 26mm and throw away the larger end bushings and get these.
