I stood on my running boards today and...

...just kidding, I took off the boards. I'm still on the fence about leaving them off or not. Any input would be great!

I prefer with them off but I'm not going to keep mine off until i get some front mud guards/flaps

If I leave them off I will get the front mud flaps. I'm just not sure about leaving them off with stock tires and suspension

leave em off but first i'd definitely work on finding some different toyota wheels and get rid of those "ford explorer" wheels.

If you can leave them off I think it looks better. I'd love to take mine off but have to leave em on cause I sometimes I drive my parents around. My wife also needs em on so does my son so I've got no choice.

I'm one of those who think stock they look better WITH running boards, but lifted / or aggressive tire looks good either way.

I've had mine off for over a year, and I just put them back on about 2 hours ago!

I vote put 'em back on.

Those terrible "Ford Explorer" rims were on the truck when I bought it.
I picked these up for $100 that need to be cleaned up and new tires.

As for the running boards I like it both ways, I plan on eventually getting a lift and agressive tires but who knows when that will be.
I look at it one hour and like it with out. Then look at it later and want to put them back on. Plus my girlfriend is only 5' 3" so she might need them...

Running boards OFF FTW extra weight you dont need, who cares if you get a little mud on the truck? 4Runners look better dirty anyway! You have a space between your fender flares and the rocker panel. i would leave them on.

Thank Toyota for offering the "ford explorer" ENKEI wheels. My old Tacoma came from the factory with those wheels. eeek!

I am leaving the running boards on (limited running boards) until I install sliders.
