Did my first mod today. Unfortunately, it was to my garage door, not my 4Runner! I had to remove one of the cross braces so the shark fin would clear. Toyota's listed height for the 4Runner does not include the shark fin or the roof rack. I almost had to lube the truck with Vaseline to get it in there, but it fits! I think I'll look up the roof rack delete procedure. As I recall, there are some different bolts and maybe a few other parts you have to buy?

Nice! Mine came from the manufacturer with chipped powdercoat (it was under the plastic and bubble wrap). If you have that problem, the rust-oleum spray bedliner is a perfect match (assuming flat black)

Slowly and carefully! The house is 110 years old and the garage was added in the early 30s to accomodate the dimensions of a Model T. The shark fin rubs against the rubber weatherstrip but clears the door by about 1/2".

Thanks for the suggestion! I hadn't heard of that stuff before. That will help me out immensely since I don't have an outdoor water spigot.

That's funny! I would have gone with the red one from Las Cruces if the price had been the same (plus the transport fee of course). I think they were just really motivated to get 2016 inventory off their lot, which is why they offered me the black one at invoice. Congrats on yours, too!:dancin:

That's a good trade for the Jeep, but getting to keep the Destination ATs as well - that's awesome!!!
I have run the Destination ATs on my last 3 Toyota trucks as well as my current one and they have never let me down. Snow, Ice, Rain, Sand, and some mild off-roading... mine have 30,000 miles and look like they are brand new (drive like it too).

Damn... that looks a lot like the old barn garage my parents had in Cortez. If I could make a living out there, I would move back (Cortez - not Farmington).

It was probably built by the same people. I'm just up the hill from Cortez in Mesa Verde NP. I love it here!

Sold my 2015 TE to a dealer acquisition about 2 weeks ago and they have it listed for what I paid for it. Somebody's gonna get a sweet ride. I just hope they take care of it half as good as I did.

I am not sure what I am going to buy (when I do). I've been doing a lot of reading and the Tacoma.... Well, not digging a lot of what I read.
I hate Nissan's. I don't trust Dodge/RAM, I hate GM vehicles and I just can't get excited about any "gently" used Ford's I've been able to find. Keep in mind I am looking for a used pickup.
What I am finding is they want top dollar for very high mileage Tacoma's. A lot of the CarFax reports I am seeing are just scary.
When you have owned as many 4Runners as I have, the bar is set pretty high. And frankly I am disappointed in what I am finding on the used truck market.

So go find you an early 5th gen with 100K miles and do what I do... rent a trailer several times a year for thirty bucks. I think I have rented a trailer about 20 times since 2010. So around $600 worth. I have no clue what a 6X12 dual axle costs but I feel sure I have about 20 more years or renting trailers before I go in the hole lol.Sure. Great bunch of people here.

I had several trucks for many years and they were nowhere as useful as a 4Runner. Especially a 4Runner with a trailer. Good luck!
