I want to swap a manual transmission into my 93 4runner 4x4

I've got a 93 4runner with a 3.0 V6 and an auto transmission that doesn't always shift properly. my thought is instead of messing with this old auto i could swap in a manual so that i can shift instead of the old computer. Let me know if anyone has had similar problems and fixed them or has done the swap

I did a search and there are theads but no real answers on how to do it or where to go...only one guy posted that he did it with no DIY.

To bad the shop below went out of business. Seem to be a nice shop.

That's a rather serious job, I wanted to do the same. In the end I kept the auto, I believe the truck as a whole will run better if you keep the original tranny.
