The last run to Carrol Canyon Curtis made a comment about how come T4R has not adopted a trail? This was said on the Side Winder Trail just after the falls.

So I was wondering what all of you guys in the So-Cal area think about this? I know there are other sites/clubs that do this to keep the trails clean and open for wheeling so everyone in the club and area can have a save and fun trip. Any idea's and thoughts guys?

I'm sure we can come up with a little something to put on the trail also. Adopted By T4R.org or something like that.

You are required to have 2 dedicated maintenance days a year. Someone has to be our leader and attend AAT meetings every once and a while. Meetings between all T4R members must occur ever so often.

All members? That might be a pain in the @$$. On the other hand it would be on hell of a party.

SoCal is HUGE. So it would need to be something centrally located. If not then it will be difficult to get a lot of members involved. Can more than one be adopted? Say like something around Gorman for our Nor.L.A. county/Ventura county members. Big Bear for our So.L.A.county/I.E.members. Deer Springs for the S.D. members. Just a thought, that's all...

Deer Springs is sadly owned by a developer. It is not city owned land.

Hey Connor, howsit goin? I don't know anything about ur area. I was just throwing it out there. What would be a good area for u guys? Also what do u think about adopting multiple trails?

P.S. That sucks to think Deer Springs could be developed.

I really want to know what developer owns it, we could still get in contact with them in an effort to clean up the place.
 
I like that idea of multiple trails and Paul you are right. It would be hard for us to just pick one. I ran Deer Springs two days ago and there were developers looking at the area with maps and getting an idea of it all. They told me I could not go down a trial because it was steep. HAHAHAHA. Rolled right into it as they were taking pictures.

I down for what ever it was just an idea to keep the places we love clean and open really. I would like to see more members be able to make runs and not worrying about pin strips on a 40k truck. There would be more guys willing to come out i think you know.

I am the AAT Senior Trail Advisor for the San Bernardino Big Bear Mtn trail Lower Larga 2N06X. Adopting and maintaining a trail is a great idea because the Forest Service budget continues to dwindle. In the National Forest realm, once a trail is closed due to a lack of maintenance it will never be reopened again. There are several trails that are open for adoption and a forum based offroad group can adopt a trail. I am with the forum group FJC FORUM. Our forum club is called SoCalFJCruisers. Our forum membership is over 5,000 nationwide, but only 125 of them are on the AAT roster. The AAT members live in Ridgecrest, Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, Inland Empire and down into San Diego. Check out the home page for AAT -
