Sorry guys for the late response. YES, it did work. After removing the two screws, the controller pulls right off to reveal the shaft. You "gently" roll the shaft back and fourth while spraying Seafoam Deep Creep down the access hole (sounds like a porn...hahahah). After a good cleaning, just place the controller back on and placed the screws back, thats it. I would suggest trying this method if you don't want to remove the whole IAC valve. However, if your IACV is heavily gunked up then by all means remove it for a more through cleaning or even replacing.
