Icon Coilovers

That stinks man. Hopefully they can figure it out. Keep us posted. For that much cash, they better make it right!

at the moment i am not to happy. i waited a month to receive my rear shocks from icon. then when i receive them we install them and the same day they get installed i have problems with them. i am going to icon tommorow and have them look at the shocks and address the issue. i am tired of driving around in my 4runner and having to slow down before dips and speed bumps because if i dont the shocks hit the frame and damage the piggyback resi mount. this is just not bueno in my book. i will hope for icon to make things right if not you guys will be the first to hear and i will be taking legal action.

You should be able to rotate the shock/resi away from the frame. Just grab it and give it a turn.

So paid my visit to icon today. After a test drive and verify with the tech they removed my rear shocks and rebuilt them both completely they were more than helpful. Also everyone who walked by keep looking at my truck and asking questions it was really cool. The conclusion is that the shocks lost there nitrogen charge and the clunk was caused by it which was the piston and shaft hitting inside the shock. Went for a test drive after and the clunk was gone and the truck rides smooth again. I am very pleased with their level of customer service.

Interesting. Thanks for keeping us posted. Did they offer an opinion as to why the nitrogen charge was "lost"?

Tech's at the shop relieve that pressure to get them on there or what? ;)

Well damn thats awesome. I've heard they have good customer service. I'm glad it worked out for ya!

tech said it could have been a number of things so they will get in touch with me once it is confirmed what the exact cause was.

the relived the pressure from them to remove them of the vehicle. the nitrogen was charged on the vehicle after the shocks were torn down, rebuilt and reinstalled properly. as they said the things with these external resi shocks is that if the nitrogen isnt at the correct psi. the shocks will have issues like what i had.

That's cool that they fix your problem:trophy:

yes it was but i wish it didnt have to resort to this as the shocks were less than a day old when they were giving me problems. and ive only had them on the vehicle less than 2 weeks.

You are lucky to live so close to Icon so you can get that kind of service and support.

Can you take some pictures to show how the resivoirs are positioned after Icon re-installed them??

That's what I was thinking too. **** if it was anyone else who lived farther away that would be problems.

But all in all glad to hear everything worked out.
