I want to get a bumper and wondering if i should just go to 885 from 884 ome coils or just pull the trigger on icon coilovers?

I know the price difference but what are other big differences?

I went from 885's to coilovers. I wish I had just bought coilovers first as the ride quality is better and the height adjustability is convient as you add/decrease weight. The icons I rode in were much smoother than my OME were.

I have 885's and love them.. They are perfect for me. If you think you'll want to be able to adjust a lot then buy coilovers though.

I think you already know my answer.:second: Granted, the cost difference may not be worth it to you. Buying new wasn't to me either which is why I waited until I found a decent deal on a used set.

Yea i found ok deal on some but just cant decide lol how are you liking yours compared to the 884s? I love the ride with 884s

I love my coilovers. They ride buttery smooth when set a little lower (around 2.5-3" lift) and just as good if not a little better when cranked way up higher (~3.5-4"+ lift) than the 884s were on my truck.

The only downside I could see, beisdes initial price which is negated by going used, is the fact that they need to be serviced periodically. With that said, i've read of several who have gone 50, 60k+ miles before needing a tune-up, especially if it is primarily on-road use. The other downside (and its mainly just my personality) is that I have adjusted them a "few" times since its so freaking easy to change the ride height. This tempation probably wouldn't be an issue for most.

Out of curiosity, what coilovers are you looking at?
