Icon stage 1 installed problem??

Hey all,
Per advice from this forum I skipped cheaper options and installed an icon stage 1 lift.

I do like the factory rake, but this is a bit crazy.....

Before (including 285 duratracs), 35.25" front / 37" rear, so 1.75 higher in back.

Post lift, I got 2" in front same as icon instructions say, rear is 3"?? That's 2 much rake for me. Rear is 40"..

I do have 1/4 tank of gas so I will re measure, and I can increase the front height but don't want to create alignment issues. Will this settle around 2-2.5 or???

And advise would be appreciated.

Which springs did you install? Heavy or regular? Really all you can do is adjust the fronts but don't go higher than 3" up front or cv angles could be extreme. You will need an alignment any time you change the lift so perhaps now is a good time to invest I'm Firestone lifetime alignment... After fronts and rears settle, which they will, you will have to fine tune the front coilovers and realign again. Welcome to the lifted crowd! You may get lucky and springs may all settle at the same rate so alignment wouldn't be necessary but I've adgusted mine twice since the install due to fine tuning. Each time needs an alignment.

These are the standard springs for the front & rear. I was thinking of moving the front to 2.5", then getting an alignment, then let it sit for a while and see where it lies.

I will put my survival gear in the back, fill it up, see what it comes out at. My only concern is getting the front too high to get it in alignment w/out new UCAs.

I've got the Icon Stage 1 @ 2.5" in the front with the standard 2" spring in the rear with 285s and it aligned fine, drives like a dream. Its at 1.9" of rake though which I am hoping levels out a little more once i put in some ARB boxes in the rear loaded with stuff.

I think i will eventually go to LR UCAs but I am draggin my feet because the truck does drive so well and I really don't want any squeaking.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. Should flatten the rake a bit w/out getting crazy on the UCAs.

Are the rear springs seated into the stops correctly? Have you driven it over some decent bumps to settle it?

My rear springs settled after a few months since I don't do a lot of driving daily. Now are sitting at about 2.25 with the third row option. i am sure it will settle after some time, others have put weight in the back and drove around that way to get them to settle faster.

Not to insult your intelligence, but did you make sure to drive over a curb (slowly) several times to settle the springs? It makes a huge difference after install or after adjusting coilovers.

Hello, I just got the springs on last night so I haven't had any beak-in time. Thinking I should bring the front up to 2.5" before I pay for the alignment. I cannot do the firestone lifetime alignment since they will not touch a lifted vehicle anymore.

Spring perch is perfect FYI. Thanks for the tips!

so I drove mine around for a week before I got the alignment done, that way it had time to settle a little. Granted I work from home so driving around for the week was not lot drives but just locally.FWIW

It's not necessarily break-in time as much as settling the shocks in their compressed length after not being compressed prior to install.

Yeah, bounced it around some tonight and right front came up to 38". Guess I will give it a week or two to flex it before adjustments and alignment.

Much better ride than factory!
