Installed Icons in the rear today, to replace the OME's.

I installed my Icons on Wed. Granted, they were from Bosch and I use them to keep the rain off my windshield.

I have Sway-a-Way (SAW) in the front. They are the 2.5 coilovers.
The back is now Icon shocks with Icon springs. So I'm sure it has more to do with the fact that I change everything in less than a month, rather than you being confused.

I had OME for both the shocks and coils before.

Run those tires down so you can get some biggins!

Who says I need to run these down first? I've got almost 10K on these, that's enough right? :bigok:
Tires are on the list, you'll most likely see them on my truck before halloween.


Overall the ride quality is pretty good. Can't tell yet if it's an improvement over the OME. It might be a little stiffer on the smaller stuff, but better for larger obstacles.(ie: streets vs speed bumps). The biggest difference is I no longer have a 2" rake, and the silver matches MUCH better with the red than the yellow ever did.

I'd say I am netting a good 3 1/4 and 2 1/4 lift right now, front and rear. When I first had my coilovers installed they had them adjusted to about 5-6" though. It was bad.

No trimming.

Josh, thought I had settled on OME but now I think I'm gonna get the ICONS. In your pics it looks like the ICONS gave you a lot more lift than the OME, is that true. I want the max amount of lift I can get. I guess your rig now sits a lot higher than it did with the Cornfed 3/2. I have the cf 3/2 and I am really ready to get rid of it. Your T4R looks great.

So after running these for a couple months how are they? What is the spring rate? Are the shocks longer? Is there increased rear end wheel travel?

I recall that on the 3rd gens that if one installed longer shocks for more travel that the driveshaft would rub the gas tank skid, any similar issues with the rear end on a 4th gen with more travel?

No, the Icons are slightly less than the OME, but they are still over 2". It's a bit higher than the 3/2, especially since the spacers settle so bad that they really end up about 2.5/1.5 (ish) so I now have more like 3.5/2.5.

No such issues in the back. The shocks are longer than stock if that's your question, but not longer than OME. I have not had the chance to offroad since I swapped out the OME for Icons in the back, so I haven't checked how much travel I get.
