Identify components under hood

Hi,

Hope this question isn't too elementary. I'm new to working on my 4runner and was wondering if anyone here had a link to a picture perhaps that identifies what all the parts are under the hood?

and a good site that describes how these parts work together to make my car move.

I know on the 4th gens, they have a schematic under the hood of the "major" componenents. What year is your truck?
