Idle question

I have an 05 Limited 4wd 4runner and it idles at about 500. I also have a sound from the driver side engi ne bay that sounds like a belt but I have looked and nothing looks loose. What is the idle supposed to be at and any ideas on the sound ?

If it is idling at 500RPM while in Drive that sounds right to me. About the sound can you give more of a description of when it occurs? Hot or Cold? While stopped or moving?
