I'll be heading out there soon to break mine in for the first time. Hopefully I can clear those rocks without the sliders or a lift.

Lookin' good iDRiVaT4R, great pics. Is there a big advantage offroad to having the lift and keeping the stock tire size? It sure looks sweet!

Only advantage would be that I get better gas mileage than a larger tire, which allows me to stay out on the trail longer. Also, My stock spare tire is the same size, so I don't necessarily have to buy a spare right away.

Yes, it is Anza Borrego. I took my truck before the lift and sliders twice to this same area. I did beat up the stock skids a lot though. If you go through these rough patches, just have a spotter, and drive with some finesse, you'll make it through.

With all these Earthquakes lately occurring in the desert, many of the trails have been modified somewhat.

Anyways, Just to mess with, I had the locker engaged and used Crawl Control. I didn't touch the gas or brake pedal till the very top. I did change the crawl control speed between the 1st(slowest) and the 2nd setting. Enjoy

On my way to work yesterday morning Sept. 13 2010 I hit the 5,000 mile mark. Time to figure out what I'm gonna do about an oil change. I'm either gonna take it to Toyota or use Amsoil 0W-20 with WIX filter.

BFG All Terrains 285/70R17

Drove a little over 5 1/2 hrs round trip to pick them up in Glendale, CA on Saturday. They have only 1200 miles on them.

These are the exact same style rims I had on my Tacoma.

Still a fan of the TE wheels though so it's tough to improve over what you already have, but those new wheels look pretty nice.

How did you like the Firestone MTs? they look super aggressive and great with the OEM wheels. Do they do well on road and rain?

^^ I liked them a lot, great on road and off road manners. Only reason Im changing tires is because these that I bought are bigger. I'll probably get firestone M/T's again next time in the 285/70R17 size.

I noticed you live in San macros. So do I.

I used to work out of that Fry's as a Canon rep.

I'll definitely keep a look out for you, are you running a CanBack soft top or like a Bikini Top? My first vehicle was a 88' 4Runner, my mom owns it now but some how it's still running.....LOL, I know, that was a little mean. :biggrin2:

I've thought about a ladder, but the rear tires make great steps.:thumb3:

Not a canback, I had a bikini top for about 4 months, it's a soft topper... They're out of Colorado.

Sometimes I have the sides and rear rolled up safari style.

May not be as aggressive with the BFG's but it still looks great and should be a better all around tire for daily use (BFG AT's are still the best overall tire in my opinion). I'm also diggin' the color contrast you got now with the black wheels!

It's kinda funny, I had the Firestone Tires installed exactly at the 500 mile mark, These were installed at Discount yesterday and the truck was at 5,999 miles. Hit the 6,000 mile mark on my way home.
