My last outting at Rausch Creek PA. LOTS of water...LOL!

(Was able to winch out of that one - 4Runner kept right on running).

Same puddle (named "Black Hole") on the return trip - listened this time, and breezed through.

The entire area was like that. Lots of mub, rocks, water, and oh yeah - SNOW. We didn't even hit the challenging parts of Rausch Creek that weekend.

I'm also in training for our trip to Moab UT. Plan on being in town on the 15th of June, and hitting the trails (already have the permits) on the 17th. Wanna go?

Kid - here's the itinerary. We have the permit(s), and are gearing up. My wife an I plan on arriving in the town of Moab on the 15th of June to hotel/motel it. Rest, refresh, restock to get ready to rough it. Meet up with the rest of the team on the 17th and head out for some Moab adventures.

Jun 17 Hardscrabble camp (White Rim Trail, Islands in the Sky District)

Jun 18 White Crack (White Rim Trail)

Jun 19 Schafer (White Rim Trail / Schafer Trail)

Jun 20 Devils Kitchen (Elephant Hill Trail, Needles District)

Jun 21 Horsehoof (Elephant Hill)

Jun 22 no reservations. I left this night open for us.

Jun 23 Kokopelli Trail (this begins our return trip east)

Jun 24 Kokopelli Trail

Jun 25 Kokopelli (ends near Fruita/Grand Junction Colorado)

Jun 26-28 Drive home

If all goes well we will have time on Jun 18 to go to the visitor center and see the park from the "top" (if desired). On Jun 19 we will have time to go the visitor center if we don't do it on the 18th and go to Dead Horse SP. We will be traveling through town on the way to Needles District / Elephant Hill. I plan to re-supply, gas, ice, etc. There might even be a chance to shower if we can find a place.

Jun 22 - We will travel through town again. There is a chance we could be off the trail early in the day and will have time to spend in town, go see other sites (there are tons of places to see that don't require off-roading, such as Arches NP).

Would be great if some of the 4Runner crew could make the trip, or at least some parts.

I'll see what I can do. I haven't been on White Rim or Elephant Hill yet. If I join, I'll be exiting Elephant Hill through Bobbies Hole and driving through Beef Basin. Lots of good archeology in there.

Most of the developed campgrounds in town will rent showers, and so does the Lazy Lizard hostel.

Majority of real wheelin around here is all private land. Anything public would defiantly be closed if it looked like that.

That's what's nice about Rausch Creek. It's a dedicated off-road area. Doesn't matter what the conditions are - they are open. However some of the trails were closed that weekend due to the trails being severely iced over.

Our club - The Off-Camber Crawlers are making a weekend cleanup and wheeling weekend in February. We work with the owners of the area to clear whatever trails need cleaning up. Not trash, but downed trees/limbs...etc. A little bit of work, and we get to wheel for free that weekend.

I can't do the whole thing, but I could probably join you guys for Elephant Hill at least - my weekend is the 21st to the 24th. I could probably talk some locals into joining, too, if you guys wanted the company.

I don't mind, and think it would be fun to have a caravan of assorted vehicles. Not sure of the cell coverage, but I doubt it's going to be good. When our club is on the trail we use CB Ch-4 for comms.
