If I can change spark plugs, anybody can!

I decided to change the spark plugs of "new to me" 2007 sr5 V6 since the PO never did. I was hesitant because I had never done anything mechanically before. The whole thing took me about an 1 hour and was extremely easy to do. I didn't install iridium plugs, just OEM Denso plugs I purchased online. IMO, Denso plugs were in better shape than NGK. While Denso plugs were gapped around 0.053 after 74K miles, NGKs were about 0.063. For those of you who are hesitant as I was before, don't pay a mechanic or stealership to do the job that you can easily do. My in-city mpg seems to be increased from 18.8 to around 19.8 also. My next DIY project is to replace power steering fluid and coolant. Cheers!

Agreed did this as well with no previous mechanical experience. Felt very accomplished to do some own work on my truck. Nice job man!:rockon:

Gotta replace mine this weekend. I used an auto zone coupon to get all 6 iridium s for $32.

Spark plugs today then full fluid change and lift tomorrow. Well not exactly, but it does feel good to do things on your own to save money and also become more familiar with your rig.

V6 has regular spark plugs and should be replaced every 30k. V8's iridium spark plugs are recommended to be changed every 100k but I wouldn't wait that long if I had V8.
