I have been on many different types of forums, and one thing I feel is neglected on this site is the rep! Usually it shows how knowledgeable and valuable a certain member is to the community, and it usually has nothing to do with post count. I like seeing it on other forums, so it gives a basic clue as to how knowledgeable or helpful a person is. It's the little heart shaped box here on T4R.org and I personally have already spread it around to guys I know have been around forever and always try to help. I just wish we all used it more, and maybe get some official titles once you reach a certain status with positive amount of reps..
Does anybody agree with me? How come there isn't something already in a sticky or something explaining the use of rep? I really think it could be a useful tool that is already here on this site...
Anyways, I'm just rambling, but I really wish people would use the rep more... some people really deserve to have more than one green block under their names. (and no, not me, I'm still a noob here)

I've never seen someone with two green blocks to my knowledge. I've gotten reps for BS comments here and on TW, I prefer the Like feature here to reps. but JMO

I agree, we should use the rep function more, but we should also have better rep statuses. I'm the highest up and I'm still "going to be famous soon enough."

Myself, I have volunteered to help people out and have at my home to do repairs and mods, due to having a few tools and some not your average tools also.

I don't really use the rep button myself, and show more with the like button. It does more of a showing to anyone reading a post or contributing to the public.

I did too, I never noticed it before. I don't "heart" the icon. If it was a text link next to the "like" button and named "+ rep" it would probably get used.

I agree, it should be labeled something more recognizable. The reason I bring it up is because it's different than the likes. Likes are towards a specific post, and you have to view a profile to see amount of likes received and given. The rep shows reputation and can go negatively against you as well. Maybe I'm being fussy about it, but if we're not gonna use it, why have it?

I also think the blocks start changing colors to red if it's like other forums and you get enough of them.. the heart button is pretty confusing IMO though, so I can see the frustration with using it. I just feel like its a nice feature that has been used effectively elsewhere, and since I spend so much time on here I'd like to see it implemented more. Is there a way to change the button layout so people would be more inclined to use it?
