I grew up 1 mile from Crossroads and currently live two blocks from it and outside of 2 years living in Cali and 3 living in NYC, I've spent almost my whole life there.

Ok so depending on how old you are I got you by 5years. Just moved away.

I'm 39 this year

Just went and looked up my old addresses. Furthest I lived away was Sammamish at 12 miles because you have to drive around the lake. Other than that 4 miles. Grew up in eastgate.

I can get to Seattle in probably the same amount of time that it would take me to get to Sammamish. So, to back your point you tell me that I would have no idea about an area (not knowing I live and grew up right in that area) to then telling me that living within 12 miles somehow now gives you close enough proximity to trump mine?

I didn't lump everybody together. I said there is a lot of hate up there but still good people as well. I am not trying to "think I am ok". I have never felt the need to justify myself to the world. Nor will I ever be made to feel guilty for sharing my experiences. If this is hard for you to understand then we are at an impasse.

But to be in denial that there is a growing percentage of people that project hate towards you is showing a very sheltered upbringing.

Growing up in the 80's and early 90's I had friends that were Muslim Indian Black Asian and although there were difference of lifestyles there was never this level of segregation never this level of hate. I am sure a big part of it is spread by the media. But as someone who has never had problems talking with people from different background in person it is crazy to see how this has all changed.

So I stand on my statement that their is a lot of hate in that area now but still a lot of good people.

I walk my dog almost everyday behind Crossroads mall in the park. I see and speak to anyone I can get a chance to. In all of my years here, I have yet to see an ounce of any of this hate you speak of. Guess I'm just lucky.

I am older. I loved this area as a child and still love it now. Is it different? Of course. Not many places stay the same as they once were. Especially not those in such close proximity to a metropolitan area.

And firsthand experiences? You have said, "Hell if you do some research on the mosque(s) around crossroads in Bellevue you will find there is a lot of hate towards non believers in that area" and "So I stand on my statement that their is a lot of hate in that area now but still a lot of good people." Those sir are not firsthand experiences. Those are both broad statements with zero firsthand experiences to back them up.

most americans don't work that way. we are very short sighted. just look at how quickly different HOT TOPICS fade from the spotlight.

But if she has a chance to promote Islam in the strict teachings of it then it can be ok. Same as women and children are being used as suicide bomber now. Being aloud out of the house to get to their destination with out a male escort that is a family member. These incidents are real. If the MSM reported that it happened would it be more believable?

Do you see the irony of a woman who supposedly lives in a community who is known for having strong Islamist Extremist ties (and who would then be following a very strict Sharia Law) who is then a teacher? I'm sorry, but any such community would not let that fly.

I agree with you......buuuuut[emoji2] .........there is a way this can be possible however unlikely. Technically, under a more recent book by Mohammed, they are free to use whatever means is necessary to deceive the infidel to further Islam. But yes, your point is salient.

Agreed. I more meant the idea or fear people seem to have that it is a plan to infiltrate us through our public school system being a pretty far stretch.

As to where I lived to where I hung out there is a difference. I hung out in crossroads a lot. A whole lot. It was central to all of us in our group of friends. We would all ride our bikes and hang out for the day. So yes I hung out in crossroads. It was a stomping grounds for my. Mom bought most of my school clothes from Kmart.

So you say your in you 40'-50's. Do you deny there has been a big shift from smiling faces and can I help you to what's there now. Like I said to start with. There are still a lot of good people there. But a lot more hate there as well.

Personally, I do deny that. I have actually found that I can engage and am engaged by many more people today than in the past. But again, that's just me. I cannot speak for you or anyone else. Those are my personal experiences.

And yes. In broad terms I do say that, which is why I said earlier that your assumption I lived directly in the city was a correct one. I just find it easier to have that as the base reference since most will understand where that is as opposed to saying something like Renton or Kirkland or something to that effect.
