Look, I'm not sitting here saying that it's all sunshine and lollipops. I know I said I've never experienced hate around here, but to a degree that was a lie. Unfortunately there is hate almost everywhere. If you go out expecting it (not saying that is what you specifically do) you will most likely find it. When I say that I find people more engaging today, the difference may not be in the area at all but in myself. Maybe I am now presenting a more engaging self than I was in the past.

And when I moved back here from NYC, I briefly moved to Kirkland, but missed the diversity that I was surrounded with in NYC. Which is one of the main reasons I chose to come back to the Crossroads area. I feel it is one of the most diverse places in the PNW. There's a great mix of all sorts of ethnic backgrounds in this one small area. I really enjoy that.

I think the idea that they wouldn't do something like that, actually goes against what they HAVE done in the past, and what they are "instructed" to do. so im curious as to why you think that?

Sorry, I guess "they" playing the "long game" as you put it, would find a much better method than to plant a substitute teacher into a public school and think that person could make any sort of headway.

much like this recent clown bullshit. they were pretty well known to be empty threats, but they were threats just the same, and needed to be treated as such.
 
Any religion that requires "exclusivity" poses problems and that needs to be acknowledged, Islam & Judaism are two examples of this......additionally, most Muslims worldwide are generally moderate, so yeah, to paint an entire religion with a broad brush is narrow minded, short sighted and to discriminate against all Muslims benefits ISIS (terrorism) along with the fear mongering. It's a tight rope walk and I guess that we can be like they are in the Mid-East when it comes to tolerance (or lack of) and not allow them here. It's a matter of values....or whether you stoop to their level or pursue the appearance of rising above it while choking it out.

Now, I would guess that "moderate" is a relative term :ballchain:

It's not any specific position that he is stating, it is what he thinks of his loyal "supporters" and it shows that he believes that he will be allowed to get away with murder because they are desperate for who they think will champion for them, and you know what is said about absolute power..... In a way, he is acknowledging the con as he will not close your borders any more or less than any of his predecessors.
