Maybe more options for suspension mods-compensation for clearance issues!! Metal bumpers and thicker paint.
Other than that I havn't found much I don't like. I may be biased because I'm new to the game but 4Runner by far is the best vehicle I've ever owned. Not too big, rear window goes down, Toyota's rep and reliability, price, standard options, handling, power, MPG, availability of aftermarket parts (due to Toyota's market share ...a lot of other people feeling the same way about them!)

Easier said then done. Some things don't detach as easily (thank god). My wife always kids me about shifting constantly in my seat - she says if I didn't have extra equipment in the way I'd be more comfortable. I guess I can forgo underwear for a while.
Oh, another thing would probably be more ground clearance like the 3rd gens. I wish the 4th gen's undercarriage was more neatly tucked up underneath.

Only thing I would change is to increase the amount of interior switch lighting. Since I only have 500 miles on the new truck, I'm sure that with time I'll get used to various locations but right now it is a bit of an irritation. I knew this going in and made up my mind to live with it and will. All else is great!
Gas mileage? Ok, that's too obvious but it'd be nice if it got 35MPG...

2004 SR5 Sport V8 improvements:
- manual transmission offered, even if its only for the V6
- illuminated door lock switch!!!!!!! (Thats annoying during the night)
- like stated above, thicker paint (mine seems to chip and scratch real easy)
- better gas mileage
I cant think of any more right now, but there will be the longer I own it. Overall i'm still very happy. Way happier than if I would have bought a GM product!

1) The thing I'd like to see comes from the Chrysler/Jeep line. I'd like to be able to tune the Body Control Module to my preferences and have lots of choices as do the new Chryslers.
2) The seats are ok but not great.
3) VSC off like the '08's
4) More "cool". I want a 4Runner sized 4-door FJC.
Overall I love my T4R. There's no other vehicle I would enjoy more as a daily driver except a diesel T4R.

More 12v outlets.
Auto up/down on all four door windows, from the driver's door at least. My Land Rover had one touch up/down windows and I loved it.

Extendable TOWING MIRRORS.
Either as an option on the vehicle or as a accessory from the dealer parts department.
The standard 4Runner mirrors FAIL big time when towing a trailer that is wider than the 4Runner.

- Better climate control system. Coming from an Acura TSX where the climate control was great (set at 68 - 70 year round) I feel like I mess with the climate control too often in the 4R.
- Better sound system. I have the JBL Nav system but feel like I'm still missing something. Again, coming from an Acura TSX, the sound lacks a bit. I'd imagine some of it has to do with the difference in size between the two vehicles.
- Standard side curtain airbags
- More 12v outlets

Yeah, I know some of us just need to fill up more often, but an AUDIBLE low fuel indication would be nice. Should not be hard to rig something up, just haven't taken the time to do it.
