Rant: If you can afford the big SUV or massive pick-up truck....please....be able to afford the GAS that goes into it! I am so sick of these trucks pulling out in front of me then accelerating like a feather is on the peddle because gas is almost $4.00/gallon! Obviously they bought the vehicle knowing it is not a hybrid, and I am not saying you have to red-line it, but get it over 2k my god! Do other vehicles have something like our ECO light that shocks the owners balls if they accelerate too fast??? Sorry for the rant, just has happened so much over the last week, crazy!

Just curious - what makes you think this has anything to do with gas prices? Some people are just terrible drivers.

Im not worried about the gas prices but I am worried about keeping my engine in tip top shape and all but a few times will I floor it at a light. Not saying I drive off like an old lady at five mph, even though I have seen some crazy old ladies :crazy: Dont know how the drivers are where you live, apparently not too good after your post but believe me they are pretty horrible in Colorado Springs....sometimes what I would like to do :gun6: but thats why I wont own a gun, too many chances to use it :nod:

I'm in the Colorado Springs area (northeast) also and I usually see people doing 15-20mph over the speed limit. Most of them are huge pick-ups... normally the hot-rodded diesels.

Can forget those stupid noisy little honda's and subaru's that drive like they own the road. There have been lots of really bad accidents in town lately too. What does your runner look like, maybe Ive seen you around.

Hey neighbor! Almost got run off the road by one of these monsters, it was spewing black smoke like something from Mad Max.

Oh yes, I agree, there are a LOT of those on the road as well! If our ECO light and bar graph is any indication, then a lot. Gas is expensive, I don't blame people for wanting to save it when/where they can but some people try to drive to save every drop....in large vehicles...and that does not work (for the other drivers around them). I'm not saying you have to speed, just accelerate at a reasonable rate for the area in which you are.

I havent changed the gears in my Runner yet, so you can frequently find me going 40-45 uphill on the highway or on a good day 60 downhill with the wind against my back. There is nothing fast about my 4runner and it has a 4cylender......gas prices arent always the issue.

Gas is $4.73/gallon CDN (approx $4.55 US) in Nova Scotia. It's the people in the smallest cars that take up the most room on he roads, that drive slow around here, stop in merge lanes in a panic, merge onto the highway well below the speed limit, drive 1kph under the speed limit, hog the left lane etc.

Even with the price of gas, most SUV's and pick-ups drive what I would say is normal or above average. Speed limit on the highway here is 110kph/68mph and most will drive 120kph/75mph. Again, the small car drivers are usually doing he limit or obstructing traffic in some other way. Just my (likely) biased opinion.
