IFS to SAS? Someone help

If you don't want a second vehicle and can't afford any downtime, having a shop do a SAS is not an option. I would bank on the shop keeping the truck for a good month at the minimum. And unless the shop is very reputable in this particular type of conversion, I would also bank on the truck being an steaming wreck by the time they're done with it. Most shops take on this kind of work because they need a buck, not because they know what they're doing. It is very easy to completely ruin the driveability (not to mention safety) of the rig without proper attention to detail. The only person willing to put that attention to detail into the job is usually the vehicle's owner. Or a good reputable off road shop that charges $$$.

Buy a Napa CV axle, swap it in on a Saturday morning and move on with your life.

Based on what I've seen on the board, NAPA remans are the best of the aftermarket, but if I was wheeling an IFS I'd stick with OEM too. Get some junkyard axles for cores and ship 'em off the CVJ.

whats wrong with a Napa CV? Tons of us have run them and continue to run them, even swear by them with lifetime warranty. Your going to break CVs why go OEM? Just my opinion. Also im in the middle of SASing my 02 3rd gen with a passenger side drop on full widths, geared and locked. Its no easy task, and there are lots of threads to show you price, some shops charge 7-10K depending on what parts you provide. I suggest running CVs for at least as long as it takes you to research and learn more about your truck first.

Start by ballsing up, buying 2 Napa CVs, a few tools for way less than $100, even less than $400 and install them yourself with the help of a friend. Do a quick search and you will have all the information and pictures step by step at your fingertips. Just a suggestion but I would start there.

PS ive run both the Rubicon and Fordyce along with numerous other trails on Napa remans with no problem! Respect the IFS for what it is and it will respect you

Doesn't sound like you're ready to SAS your runner. If you want it that bad, you're better off buying a straight axle pickup for a couple grand and learning from that one. Way cheaper in the long run.

FYI I'm into mine way over $10k and I'm still not done and don't plan on being done any time soon.
