Ignition cylinder replacement...no ACC

So I can not get my key to turn to acc so I can pull the cylinder. It will only turn enough to unlock the steering wheel.

Is my only option at this point drilling that damn thing out?

What condition is your key in ?
Why are you wanting to pull Ign Cylinder ?

3-in-one LOCK Dry Lube may help you, has gotten me out of a bind couple times, I use it couple times a year to keep things lubed up.

I've got 3 keys in varying condition from brand new to smooooooth and round. None of them work anymore. I am rebuilding the front end of my rig and went to bleed the power steering. Insert key, and it turned just fine but i forgot to hook up my battery, so i took the key out, hooked up the battery and went to try again...now it will not turn to ACC. The steering wheel is unlocked.

I have tried every internet trick in the book at this point to no avail (Just tap it in. Just tap it in. Give it a little tappy. Tap Tap Taparoo).

I want to pull the lock cylinder because I now HAVE to.

I think all i need to drill out is the little retracting pin that you push up IF you can get the key to ACC.

does it have to turn to acc? I lost my keys years ago, and instead of walking, I just popped the ignition out and used a screw driver. I don't remember the details now, but I had no way to turn it to acc. I think I just pushed the little pin and pulled it out...

Yeah, you have to get it to turn to acc in order to push the release pin up, then you can slide the cylinder assembly out.

Anyways... i finally got it out and can now start it with needle nose pliers. New assembly is on the way.

Incase anyone else runs into this issue, I eventually got it to come out by turning the key as close to acc as possible...mine would go about 8/10 the way there. While holding the key turned, i pushed the pin up as far as it would go. Holding tension on both, i pushed the key in hard and as far as it would go....seemed like the tumbler cylinder pushed in a bit more and then the release pin went all the way in and i was able to slide the assembly out easily.
