Just went to a baseball game and ran the front end into some cables when I was parking in the parking garage. Doh!
I got some minor gouges and scratches. Any suggestions on what to do to make it look less screwed up? Touch up paint the only option on on plastic? What's a used bumper go for?

Post pictures so we can laugh. Seriously though, good for you for coming clean. We all do dumb s**t once in awhile.

What gen do you have?

Errm, I'm in the 5gen section, aren't I? :boink:

5gen sir.

It's probably not enough to buy a new bumper for. But damn, I'm still pissed over it. I just wasn't paying enough attention. The spaces were angled and I ran the right front into them. There's about 6 cables to keep you from falling to the level below, so I have six evenly spaced gouges / scratches vertically on my bumper and grill. lol I'll snap a pic tomorrow. I don't want to look at it again tonight.

Okay, it's funny. But it still sucks!

Don't worry I'm still recovering from my last dumb moment. Ribs are mending nicely now and the road rash is just scabs.

That's different. Chicks dig scars.

Isn't it funny how screwing up your truck seems to hurt more (mentally) than screwing up your body? LOL

What did you do? Downhill accident I presume?

Yes, we all do dumb sh!t every once in a while :redbrick: but getcha one of them new shrockworks bumpers

Call your insurance and tell them you were at the Zoo and had a hit and run with a Zebra... :)

I drove mine into the vice in my garage @ 2 weeks old so I feel your pain. I think we need new bumpers...

That actually makes me feel better! lol

I'll survey the damage later today. That's why I could never be an off roader. I hate scratches. It makes my ride look lke a hooptie.

First thing I checked was my bike - after I knew I was still alive. No downhill - just careless on real fast singletrack. Of course I was at the farthest point away from the trailhead too. Show some pics of the bumper and we will offer our best opinion on how to repair. Oh, and yeah, I definitely have new scars, trouble is at my age I just replace an old scar with new ones. Yes, I am a dumba$$ and the last few weeks of sleeping in a chair because I can't lay flat will slow me down

Ouch! I'm finallyl fully recovered from smashing my knee cap while riding a skate park on my bike. I guess I'm getting too old for this stuff. lol

I decided last year that turning 50 yrs. old, this year would be my last year on the mountian bike. I just take to much of a beating, so I am now a full time roadie. Last month I was doing a group ride with our road race team, and there was some confusion in the peleton about which direction we were supposed to make a turn, I went left and the guy beside me went right and I went down and hit the tarmac at 20+mph. Not fun, but I'm going be riding as long as I can swing a leg over.

Well, after showing my brother, his GF, and my wife.....and getting the look of "what, that little scratch?" I guess it's not as bad as I'm making out to be. It's still noticeable, but a day later, the pain is gone. Just another scratch to go with the thousands I've had before and the thousands I'll get in the future.

Shrockworks bumper would look awesome, but it's more $$ than I need to be spending for no real reason. LOL

That's nothing....

I went to park in a field recently and did not see the fire hydrant! Yeah, that's right. I now have a nice tennis-ball sized hole in the lower portion of the front bumper. I have since ordered a nice, half-sized plate to cover it up.

So, don't feel bad. We all do dumb s**t.

It's ok 4shorerunner and I both scratched our trucks up this weekend...

But it sure was fun!

Since this is the internet there is only one correct advice to offer: Buy TWO new trucks and keep one as a spare. :happens:

When my T4R was like 3 days old, i went into a parking garage and lifted up the back hatch to show my friends. I didn't even think to check to see if the back hatch would strike the top of the parking garage. Luckily, there was plenty of room and it didn't strike the ceiling. That would have been embarrassing and i would have been pissed, BUT, it could have!

Yeah, my wife took care of that one when it was a month old. Borrowed it while I was at work to get groceries. Opened the hatch in the garage. It hit the garage door where there just happened to be a hex head self tapping screw. Gouged the paint down to the metal about 2" long. LOL
