I'm buying Tires and wheels and need help

Hi guys, I'm buying a set of 20" wheels and tires for my trail. and I'm having trouble with the tire sensor. Do I really have to pay $300 for new sensor, for those of you who got wheels on the truck, what did you do?

the guys that put my tires/wheels on didn't even mention the sensors. i know they are installed. that was at they Toyota dealer.

I transferred mine over from my stock wheels but going from 17's to 20's I think they are different sensors they also have to be calibrated to the vehicle. I know on the older models the tpms sensor is just a light but if I am correct when the tpms light is on with the new 4runners it disables the abs and other things from what I read don't know if it is true or not.

On another note why would you puts 20's on a vehicle meant for off-roading?

well I'm puting 20 on 33 toyo open country M\T so I can still go off-road at all times.
thanks for the info on the sensor. my local shop toll me they are going to do the same they did to your wheels get the sensor out my stock wheels and into the new ones, I hope it works I will let you guys know on wednesday

You can absolutely off-road with 20s and the right tires. One may not be able to off-road on gnarly, hardcore terrain but it all depends on the type of off-roading one plans to do. This boggles my mind just as much as when people say the Limited trim is not meant for off-roading. I just don't get it. :shrug:
