I'm reluctant to do this but this is twice this morning. Felt I should notify...

Both have occurred in the 5G forum.

quit hitting them p0rn ad web sites

its probably the ad being served up, based on the screenshot.

Philsie, a couple of questions:

1. It doesn't happen every time? If so, it's ad related, I'll have to contact Google.
2. If it happens again, could you click on "View Details", and post as much info as possible?

Thanks!

I hope I didn't panic. I've been on the site for an hour, and it just started, happened two times. My intent was to alert you asap.

BUT, I see it has also just happened on my USATODAY website. So, maybe it's not on T4R .... I'm so sorry if I've caused you extra work. Intentions were good. I think run a Viper full scan.

Take my post down if you want to.

Phil, download malwarebytes (it's free) and run a full scan, also scan with your favorite virus scanner (microsoft security essentials, is what I use, free and effective).

Make sure those pop ups are actually a Vipre notification and not some kind of virus imposter window pretending to be, and making you click it by accident...I've had that happen from some malicious ads.

ETA: Chill with da anime pornz too (see ad banner, lol).

Still happening. Not every time. Only on T4R and USATODAY.

I have captured "details".

Do you want to take this off the forum? ... and take this thread down?

PM me an email address, so I can send you attachments.

Phil

other thing also, once the .htm file is downloaded to the temp folder, it will trigger regardless of website. it just happens to be those 2 sites that are trying to call up the local cached file and vipre is blocking the attempt.

you will need malware bytes downloaded from another machine and run from a usb drive to really get rid of it.

Thanks for tips fellas.

I do run malwarebytes always, in background, ditto for Viper.

Going to do full scans now.

well, the Vipre alerts are gone. my scans detected nothing. so, I dunno, maybe admin did some techno-hocus-pocus.

I still get the same banner of eddiebx 's wife tho, just like in the first post.

:thumb: :girl: :eyebrows:

as you were ....

Maybe if you quit searchin' for pix of my wife, your personalized ad's would stop displaying them to you :wink2:

BTW, sometimes malicious ad's get into the mix at the source, so which ever websites pull their ads from that source would have the same issues as you have described. Maybe it was fixed at the source?

BTW, ads are overrated, you need to get this plug-in: http://adblockplus.org

And if whatever browser you are using does not support it, you should be switching to a more sophisticated browser that does support it, lol.
