im hooked, had a blast at Pismo

I've always been a car guy, going to the track and all that.

I recently bought an '07 4Runner and was anxious for Tahoe, but.. no snow

So, this past weekend took my 4R to Pismo for my 1st time there, lots of my friends go with quads, etc.

I lowered the tire pressures to 20psi, used 4wheel drive for the 1st time
I was surprised how well the 4R did in the deep sand dunes!

Pismo is amazing!!! And, although we need the snow, low 70s isn't too bad for January! I have been going to Pismo since I was little...it was the first place I took my 4R when I got it not too long ago! I have been to Glamis, but the atmosphere just isn't the same. Hope you go out there a whole lot more...but yeah, don't speed, those State Parks guys are always watching!!! My '04 looks just like yours...if I see you out there one day I will say hi!

Nah hu, you can get a speeding ticket on the Beach in a buggy like that!??!? My dad and I are supposed to go to Dubai next year, and they don't have police out in the deserts...so that's a good thing for me because I really like to go hard in the paint!!!

You must have stayed on the level beach area with your 4runner. To be out on the big dunes you need a tall flag like on the buggy (police will enforce this). Also the speed limit is only on the beach area. You can drive a motorhome on the firm beach, there are lots of motorhomes on the beach towing there buggys to the big dunes.

LOL, I realized this flag law while we were on our way home, :hatsoff: oops!
But nobody was out there, we were there at like 10AM, had the dunes to ourselves. But for sure, I'm gonna get one of those flags with beer mug next time and attach it to my Yakima roof mount? Where do you guys attach the flags to?
