Im never satisfied and want more power

I have a performance muffler, volant CAI and throttle body spacer.(no i don't care what you think, it works so suck it). Im not gonna chip it because thats a waste of money for little to no effect. and i like my truck to much to supercharge it. Any suggestions to add some additional power? :roadkill:

It helps to know what you have (year, engine, etc)...

Weight reduction would be my advice if you don't want to spend any money. Remove roof racks, interior carpets, seats, console, radio, speakers, spare tire.

Maybe other will chime in on unneeded parts to remove...

other than supercharge what you have... Buy a car thats ment to go fast

I think you've done all you can with that engine. If I recall correctly, they don't make a supercharger for the vvti V8's, which started in 05.

Well you didn't leave many options. You have the basic bolt ons and you don't want to do rods to supercharge it.. Plus you not want a chip. On a basic NA motor like this you do not have many more options...

Ok then I give you some help. Your theory on chips and throttle body spacers are backwards. TB spacer to little to nothing on a fuel injected engine. The only real benefit they would provide is a space to add in another injector for extra fuel on a F/I engine or for nitrous. other than that it makes a nice paper weight. "Chips" is a seriously misconstrued term. there are many ways of tuning a vehicle though engine management but the best way would be having a standalone like a pro efi, haltech, motec, etc but are the most expensive. Then there are piggybacks that work inline with the factory ecu but intercept the signals before the factory computer does so you can mess with your afr, timing, etc. Basically the only thing you have on your truck that adds power (but just a little bit) is the air intake. A full exhaust that deletes the cats would add more power, in addition to tuning. You could add boost and if you keep it low you would not need to replace rods. A safe tune with boost adds a good bit of power and keeps the reliability in check.

Oh hello, Captain Contradiction, nice of you to join us today...

So basically you've helped it breathe, but haven't helped it get rid of anything. The CAI is a good start, but if you're still forcing the exhaust out of the stock headers (which you're stuck with) and from there the stock down tubing and cats, what good does a muffler do? Make it sound pretty?

You don't want a chip, but modifying the intake and fuel mapping would be highly beneficial. You could also put some money into head work or something that helps the actual engine perform.

You love it too much to supercharge it? Why? Because you won't spend the money to do it right? Supercharging is actually a great way to boost power. It's not as effective on the top end as a turbo, but it helps on the bottom end because boost is controlled by engine RPM and the belt/pulley system.

Power costs money. If you want to cut corners and take the ricer approach and put a big cone filter on it and a fart can, go for it. But don't complain that you're not getting performance boosts when you're just poking the tip of the iceberg when it comes to engine modification and performance.

If I may, I believe what he is saying is he spent enough money on placebo effects "doo-dads" upgrades and doesn't want to spend any real cha-ching on "real" performance parts/upgrades because that would require a lump sum of cha-ching instead of paycheck here and there.
