CAN ANYONE PLEASE CONFIRM THAT I AM READING THE FSM CORRECTLY ON MY 1995 4RUNNER 3.0 6CYL. THE FSM SAYS THE IDLE SCREW IS THE TOP SCREW ON THROTTLE BODY FACING YOU WHEN LOOKING STRAIGHT ON IN FRONT OF ENGINE. MY SERVICE MECHANIC TELLS ME NOT TO TOUCH THAT BECAUSE THAT IS THE AIR MIXTURE VALVE.

IF IT IS THE AIR MIXTURE VALVE CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO SET IT. EXAMPLE SCREW ALL THE WAY IN AND BACK OUT 3 TURNS ECT.

ALSO FYI IF YOU HAVE TO CHANGE A FUEL REGULATOR ON THESE DO NOT GO WITH A AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT. JEEZ TOOK ME 20 HOURS TO FIND THAT THESE A/M REGULATORS SUCK. GO AHEAD AND PAY THE EXTRA MONEY AND GET A DENSO / OEM REGULATOR. IT WILL SAVE YOU MUCH GRIEF.

Lower adjustment is in front... upper in rear. I adjusted the lower/front to lower my idle recently as the rear was not even making contact.
It helps to have someone hold the throttle wide open while you make adjustments.
It's not rocket science... just play around with it. Good luck!

2ndgeneration, Thank you so much for your response. I am a little confused when you said lower and rear. Can you please expand? The screw on top of the actual throttle body "no allan wrench screw with locking nut" am I on track. There is a allan screw with locking nut that sets the dashpot and another in rear that I believe that adjust idle for AC am I correct or mistaken.
