In Canada Limited only comes with 3rd row? (And a few other questions)

Hello, first post here. I have been lurking for a while since the 4runner is a strong competitor for my new vehicle. I was disappointed however when I went in and they told me it is impossible to get the limited with anything but the 3rd row seats. Why would you be able to get it in the states with the pull out try but not in Canada?

Just for some background info this would be my first SUV. I am currently driving a 03 Audi A4. The main reason for looking at the 4runner was its longevity as I buy cars and want them to last 8-10 years without getting as expensive to maintain as car payments towards the end (this is now where I am at with the Audi). I don't really intend to take it off-roading much if at all, but knowing I can makes me feel it is a much more solid truck than most. I also figure it will be very good in the messy east coast winters we get here.

I only got to drive the SR5 with the upgraded package and I am hoping the Limited with the X-REAS feels a bit better on the roads.

The other SUV's I am looking at are: Mercedes GLK AMG, Jeep GC Overland, Volkswagen Touareg TDI. However I feel all of these won't really have a 8-10 year longevity that I am looking for.

Anyway sorry if I am ranting here, just wanted to see if I can get some input.

I did not get to test drive any 2010. When I went to look for a new 4runner to replace my 03 Tacoma no one had any. I went on line and took a look at all the options available, and well the TE was the one to replace my 03 TRD. I hope you stick with the 4runner, you will not be disappointed.:thumb3:

Thanks for the reply. I really hate the look of the inside without the nav, seems too bare bones (Which I am sure is the point). I asked if I could build the TE like the Limited and they said all I could do was add leather. Since I won't be doing much off road stuff I can't see the TE really working best for my needs.

Which rides better on the road? I would assume that the X-REAS is better on road than the KDSS but I could be wrong.

BHH I to was amazed at the lack of flexibility in the Canadian versions. In the end I dealt with a car broker here in Calgary and ended up getting my 4rnr out of Texas, sliding tray and all. I have to say my wife loves the tray for ease of getting things out of the back. Concerning another point, I also have a 2001 Jeep GC with 234,000 KM on it. I have paid for this vehicle twice when repairs are added in. If you do buy one sell it before the warranty is up! In the case of the 4rnr we took delivery on June 1st. We have driven 11,000 miles and enjoyed every minute. Also I will add that at 90 KPH on the flats we hit 30 MPG several times. In a vehicle such as this I cannot express how happy I am to get mileage such as this. If you have any other questions please feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the help Gamer. If I go with the 4Runner I will have to see if I can get my dealer to actually work a little bit for the sale and get me what I want.

It is sad that the jeep history is so tarnished because they truly look and seem like a great vehicle. Hopefully I am able to pick the most durable longest lasting SUV. Fingers crossed.

The Jeep industry brings it on themselves. I have to replace the Tranny now and even a rebuilt here is about 1500-2000$. I also have a 96 Tahoe my daughter has now with 418,000 KM on it and its been a great vehicle. Having said all that I still can't say enough about the 4RNR's build quality and fun to drive factor. It's a great truck and just the right size for us. Take one out and compare with others and I think you will see what I mean.

I too love the ride of my 4runner, it's looks and even better!! The gas mileage!! It to me was definately the best choice I have made. I only have 8,000 km on mine and I was always told, gas mileage will come when you go over 20,000 that;s when she is just broke in. Well I guess that's just an old wives tail now.
