So I woke up at 7 am on memorial day to find that my precious 4runner had been a target of vandals. Apparently they shot a copper bb through the back rear window..I found it laying on my dash board. Dealer told me list price was $571 but after hearing such a sad story he sold it to me for $371 plus tax. Now I still have to get the labor done on it tomorrow told me it was gonna be at least $150. Just wanted to share my story..makes me feel better..

Your dealer did give you a pretty good price though.

Thats not too bad, was expecting to read that it cost you over $1000. Guess I was expecting the worst, but still bummer that you had to deal with all this on your new 4Runner.

O wow thats not that bad, before I sold my rsx, the tracks at the bottom of the side windows were broken. Only way acura could fix it was to replace the whole window, which costs $750 a piece. Good thing the stealership didn't notice before we signed the papers lol. :thumb3:

Glass breakage sensors would'nt have done much good in this case!
Thus,the CSI team got another good nights sleep.

Lexus GX460's , Landcruisers and Infinity QX56's have glass breakage sensors.......and I hear the forum members for them love to meet new perspective buyers......hint .hint!

enough guys! 4runner is still on order and the complaints are minor on the 4R that can be fixed, just venting as i said before. I havent bot any true aftermarket parts yet fyi, just toyota rims and the te headlights..i will put up pics as soon as i get it to all the doubters...so please lay off the personal comments..

The dude has been writing me because he thinks I'm "attacking him"... here's a couple excerpts... I find his comments about the 4runner he's been waiting months for, to be funny. If it such a horrible vehicle, why get one? But hey, a dude's gotta do what a dude's gotta do. But the fact that I looked on Edmunds a month or so ago and found three LTDs w/ 3rd row seats and Blizzard White in PA and 200 miles of PA... well that's where he lost credibility in my book. Ultimately who cares? Just dig people who keep it real.

Sorry guys didn't mean to incite an argument..in any case labor was originally $250..I said you can do better than that and he dropped it to $200..so total cost $600 and one upset mofo! It's funny because I wasn't that angry when it happened but now that I actually had to fork over $600 bucks I'm really pissed..guess it could have been worse..the bb coulda made its way all the way through the front windshield..Guess that'll be my silver lining as this story comes to a close..Thanks for the support guys

Doesn't your insurance carrier offer full glass coverage? You shouldn't have had to lay out a dime. I have full glass with $0.00 deductable and any time a window needs replacing it's covered with no cost to me!

yeah..i'm in texas and my progressive agent said they don't have a policy like that..thanks though sir..oh i kinda got an update..i just picked up the car and the right rear corner plastic over closest to the bumper is not flush with the steel..the otherside looks good and is flush..the service guy said it's just clips and thats the best he can do..i'm irked not to mention the weather stripping looks sloppy..am I being a jerk? Let me post some pics and you guys can be the judge?(Although I did pay good money and had the dealer fix it..shoudn't look like the glass never got replaced?)
