In channel vent visors vs stick on pics please

I cant decide what I like and most of the ones ive seen online dont say the brand or what they are..

I dont have any on my runners but i have a set on my dodge truck. And the in channel ones are much more professional looking in my opinion. Just have to be careful to get them right on the first try when installing.

AVS Stick-ons here. They are durable; this set has been on since my family bought the 4Runner new from the dealer. However, if I were to buy new ones, they'd be in-channel ones. They just look cleaner and better installed.

Im sorry if i offend anyone, but stick on are just plain fugly. it doesnt flow with the truck. here are mine they are from avs i believe.

Looks are subjective and function is what it's about. I prefer the stick-on since they give more window coverage and no chance of them becoming loose or rattling in the wind (this is an issue as time passes).
I stuck mine on 7 years ago and only the driver's side needed a two inch strip of 3M tape to fix some of the tape that got water under it.

They both do their job but really it comes down to looks. I'm just partial to the stick-ons.

i like the stick on ones, and i would not run the "in-channel" ones, as ive had a set get sucked out of a window before on another vehicle i was in(93 Audi s4, yes we were going over 100mph but it was loud and scary as hell. and yes the windows were open too, but still)

I had the Wade in channel ones first, but I didn't like them and got AVS ones instead. I haven't used the stick on type, but I'm more than happy with the in channels so far (Est. 1.5-2 years of use).

I have the Wade in channel that Children had. I love how low profile they are and they have little to no wind noise. My only complant is that my driver side auto-up feature doesn't work because I don't have the in channel sitting properly. All of my other windows work just fine and my passanger auto-up works perfectly.

+ 1 for the in channel, I gave the set from weathertech and they are perfect. Had a set of stick on one's on my last Taco, after having both I'd do the in channel.

For those who encountered Jam protection with their in channel visors, purchase a can of Silicone Lubricant. It keeps rubber in good shape and allows the windows to glide past the visors effortlessly.

That is a grand idea! Alot easier than heating up the tape, removing the visor and old tape, then reapplying them better. Mine is only off a hair so I'm going to give the lube a whirl.

Honestly, I have to +1 with the stick on vents. They serve more use outside with a wider and bigger lip and are better with rain. I have had in channels and yanked them out. I have had my ventshades from AVS for roughly 3 years and they are holding strong as heck.

I'd have to go for the stick on ones as well. They mold very tightly (as seen above; specifically the side mirrors) to the bodywork so there isn't any abnormal noises coming from them. Had them for my last 3 vehicles and never a problem. Had AVS's everytime

I've never used the stick on ones. But I do have a set of Weather Tech inchannel ones.

They just look better imho. They look seemless and I've never had any trouble with the windows getting stuck or rattling.

I'd have to vote for the in-channels. On my last truck I had stick on. The front window started peeling off, and would always get pulled when I washed it. I put Wade in-channels on the Runner, and like the streamlined look. Haven't had a single problem with them wanting to come out, and I like how they go all the way down to the bottom...

I went with a set of Wades in-channel visors. I chose the in-channel type purely for aesthetics. Looks cleaner in my opinion. If I had the choice, I'd have nothing in there, but as many of you know, if it rains at all, it's impossible to have your window down at all without getting a waterfall inside.

My Surf came with the HUGE OEM Toyota stick ons, but they had legs on them as well, they were very sturdy. Lots of people that rode in the truck didn't care for them as it took some getting used to looking out, it gives the illusion that the windows are always open a couple inches, but I liked them. They likely caused some aerodynamic drag due to the size, but they did a fantastic job keeping rain out.

The new LC has the same style, so I guess I better like them, lol.

This is the best window visor thread.

I just ordered AVS in-channel ones to replace my old stick-on ones. Now I'm having a real tough time getting all that old double sided tape off. Anyone have any suggestions for how to do this with out hurting anything? Goof-off doesn't seem to do it for me.

I'll post pics when I get them on.

Try nail polish remover, but make sure it has acetone in it. It shoul break down the adhesive with out damaging anything. But make sure you wipe down the paint afterwards to get any residual remover off.
