I'm looking to put an in-dash touchscreen for a good price, I don't need nav or a back up camera, and I was wondering if you guys got any suggestions or info I may need?

Lot of guys on here have Pioneer, I had a JVC in mine which I really liked. Had BT capabilities, and option for BU camera but not required.

check out one of the scion units from the 2014 trucks if you do not have a JBL setup. model T10015. there is one for sale in the classifieds for $300 shipped.

i have the JBL system, but i think i have all the wiring figured out in order to be able to get this stereo in my 05.

the scion unit fits without the, in my opinion, terrible looking spacers on either side of the radio.

also, crutchfield may come with the required dash kit to mount the stereo, the amazon one most likely does not. something to consider when looking at prices.

I have had both Kenwood and Pioneer DD units. Both are good, its mainly just personal preference and budget. Just be sure to but the adapter for the JBL system that allows the sub to work. Also determine if you want to use your steering wheel controls because that will also require another adapter.

Let me know if you have any questions, I have installed these multiple times in 4th gens.

I have this unit from pioneer. Lots of features. The Bluetooth works great! Sorry about the crappy picture.

The only thing that I dont like about my pioneer is that I have yet been able to find a converter or settings that will play back video without skipping through usb.

It should work. I like mine so much that I'm really tempted to get one of the android versions. The only reason I haven't yet is that I like my nav software, I think it is igo8 which I can't find for android.

I have the Jbl system as well.

mind throwing up a picture of your unit installed. Did it completely fill the space between the OEM opening?

What harness and/or adapters did you use to install?

I am trying to figure out exactly what the TYTO harness does. is it just a converter? if so, seems like i just need to create a harness for non JBL stereos to hook up to the OEM JBL amp and i would be rich!!

I'll take a pic but it'll be in a couple days. My truck battery is dead and it's too cold for me to get some motivation to get out there to boost it.

I had to modify an aftermarket double DIN faceplate. It is slightly taller than the big name double DIN units so I had to cut the plate so i had the left and right portions only. I think they sell a kit like this but it's been a while since I read up on this topic for the 4Runner.

If you get the Eonon china deck the only wiring harness adapter you'll need is this
Amazon.com : PAC TATO JBL Amplifier Turn-On Interface for Toyota Vehicles : Automotive Radio Accessories : Car Electronics

The steering wheel interface adapter wasn't needed for the China deck, it can learn the voltage/signal as long as you connect the correct wires from the factory harness. The learning function of this on the deck was way simpler than the PAC-SWI device.

Yeah they don't support XM. I've never used XM before but with all the new radio streaming apps I've never felt the urge to explore, but maybe I also don't know what I'm missing
