Infinity Kappa 63.7I Install Tips?

Hey guys... Just ordered from Etronics.com two pairs of the Infinity Kappa 63.7I 6.5" three-ways and the tacotunes.com 6.5" Tacoma Double Cab Kit for all four doors. Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on the install?

I'm hoping everything (especially the mid and tweeter component) fit well behind the door.

It's gonna be a good week. I expect my Borla Exhaust to come in on wednesday and hopefully the speakers by friday!

Did I mention how much I love tax refund time?? :beer: :bigok:

You amping the speakers?

If you just running them off of a head unit, your best off getting a mid-high end 4 channel..it will help with the mid-bass and the overall loudness

not really interested in the dynamat... but it would've been nice.

I'm not planning on an amp right now... just running from a scion deck.

I was wondering how easy/difficult it is to remove and reinstall the door panels.

there is a write-up on it somewhere, ive worked on them at work, and they are not bad to work on...ive seen worse..

With the adapter plates, it will definitly make the install much easier.

Solder your connections, dont chop off the factory plug, and make sure that window is all the way down (you dont want the magnet on the speaker hitting the glass).

Dont lay down the door panel, people step / fall on them..let them stand up..and also make sure you get +/- correct..you dont want out of phase speakers...let me see if i can get the wire colors for you.

LF Speaker +pink - purple
RF Speaker +lt. green - blue
LR Speaker +black - yellow
RR Speaker +red - white

double check those however

All you need to do is get a 9V battery, and put a wire on both terminals of it. Put the wires on the factory speakers plug, and see if the speaker "pops" outward or inward

If you have the correct +/- orientation the speaker will pop outward..

find the side of the plug that the + wire is toching, and see what wire color corresponds to that side of the plug..should be as above, but like i said, double check..

Secondly, dont chop off the factory plug, strip the wires after the plug, wrap your speaker leads to it, and solder it on heatshrink or electrical tape it...and your good..

Put a piece of electrical tape on the factory plug to make sure it doesnt rust when you go to put it back to stock..

Thanks for all the great installation advice! I ordered the complete tacotunes.com package tho and it includes not only the brackets... but also new hardware and speaker harnesses! check out the web site if you have any doubts...

good luck, hope they work out for you, ive had to custom bracket plenty of speakers for 4th gens at work, and those look pretty correctly sized..
