Information relating to Pelfreybilt Bankruptcy

So I received this today from Wells Fargo regarding my request for an ACH reimbursement:

I have requested a REG E review and indicated that I cannot reach Pelfreybilt but haven't heard back on that yet.

Any Suggestions?

When was your charge in relation to their bankruptcy? Basically, it may have been authorized -- just as so many fraud cases are -- but it was (potentially) under a false narrative of them being a thriving, healthy, legitimate business.

In other words, it's along the same lines of receiving a message from an African Prince and if you give them X dollars, you'll get something nice in return. Just replace African Prince with Pelfrey, and it's still a lie to get your money.

Just my thoughts.

Yes this seems true. Today they gave me their final determination which was no refund. Poof... $3200 down the drain

I would definitely hold on to everything in case they have the nerve to open another business.....not sure if it would go anywhere but it would be a shot

Reg E seems like it only protects against unauthorized fraud. You need to try and contact a different fraud department maybe?

In the wire fraud example I gave you previously, the person sent a very large sum of money to Wells on their own personal authorization from another bank. What they didn't know was the recipients email was hacked and they changed the account info in a follow up message. Even though Wells had nothing to do with the client requesting money be sent to them, they returned almost all of it.

I think Wells needs to contact the receiving bank for you. I've found that the more you ask and bug them, the more likely they will be to eventually come through. It's a PITA I know, but $3200 is nothing to them, but it's a lot for you and I.

True, I'll give that a try. They were also squawking about the time frame. The purchase was in March and I submitted the request the 7th

Thanks for all the help

indy500driver any ideas or advice?

I'm not a source of any successes in this fight. I haven't heard of anyone getting back their ACH and keeping it.

On a separate note I did file a complaint here and got a note from Wells Fargo saying they received it. I'll keep you posted on that

I have also sent my letter to the trustee of the case to get added to the list of creditors since somehow I wasn't on the list

For what its worth, Satin Pelfrey contacted me TELLING me to proceed with disputing charges. She indicated IN WRITING that they are not contesting any claims for refunds due to items not delivered. Since the banks back the transaction and have the agreement with Pelfreybilt - not Tyler and Satin directly, I'm hoping to get something back.

Credit card disputes are a long process if you approved the transaction. They will always back the merchant. They will reach out to the merchant for information about the transaction and usually give 90 days for their accounting to respond to the claim.
However, it does sound like Pelfreybilt is providing good guidance to the processors.

That's what the Tacoma guys are saying. The CC companies put the money back then suck it out a few days later.

I'm in limbo with Chase right now, they have yet to get back to me. Not very hopeful.

Heard back from Wells Fargo regarding the complaint I filed. No change in their position. I'm out the money with no additional avenues to pursue.

So far Chase has backed my claim and granted a temp refund of the initial deposit - pending their request of more information from Pelfreybilt. Also, just got notified PayPal has closed my case for the final payment, and that is also being refunded.

Maybe I'm one of the lucky customers that will walk away "whole."

Just came across this. I was another person that was surprised by perlfreybuilt. I paid my deposit through PayPal and actually received a call from PayPal saying I was covered through them. Went through the process and received my full deposit back. If anybody else paid through PayPal, hopefully you can do the same.

Cheers,
Tyler

There's info floating out there about Pelfrey's abandoned inventory being auctioned off. Anyone come across this? I don't have access to tacomaworld and tundra forums to read into it yet...
