Infra red temps on the valve cover

I'm having some unusua engine temp spikes..I was poking around yesterday cleaning up the engine bay and ran the infra red through there. Everywhere on the valve covers and intake was 180 range, 195 at most..then I hit the third valve cover bolt back on the drivers side bottom and it was much much higher. Any ideas what would cause this??

It's close to the exhaust port. The exhaust valves and ports are the hottest parts of any internal combustion engine.
